Simple Waffles from Scratch

3 tablespoons butter

1 ½ C flour
1 ½ t baking powder
Pinch of salt
2 T sugar

1 ½ C milk
2 eggs

1. Preheat the waffle iron!


2. Melt butter in microwave.
3. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt and
sugar. In another bowl, beat together milk and eggs.
4. Whisk liquid mixture into dry ingredients until just
combined. Stir in melted butter.
5. Spray the waffle iron with non-stick pan spray or brush
hot waffle iron with butter.
6. Spoon about ½ C of batter onto iron and close to cook.
7. This first waffle will be the tester. It may not get
terribly brown, but it will still taste good – hide it
under the other good-looking ones ☺
8. Cook waffles until golden brown. Remove to plate and
keep warm

Yield: about 8 little waffles
