1. What are your goals and objectives for this lesson?

Student will be able to visualize the inheritance of traits. They will be able to answer the following
questions: Why does father not look exactly like father? (Father has 2 sets of traits) Why doesn’t father
and mother look alike? (they have two completely different set of traits) Why doesn’t Danny and Mary
look alike? They have the same mother and father. (The traits aren’t the same) Can you choose what
traits are passed down? What is an exampled of an inherited trait? What about an acquired trait?

2. What are some specific things you would like observed?

Classroom management/delivery of content

To be completed by the Observer:

3. Strengths to continue to build on:

1) The lesson and activity seemed well thought out and preparations were made for the activity
ahead of time.
2) I thought you asked great thought provoking questions that supported the lesson both whole
group and to individual groups. Questions were asked at the beginning to help build on prior
knowledge and questions were asked at the end of the lesson to help further student
understanding and knowledge.
3) This lesson had a lot of directions. I thought you did a great job of explaining the task to the
students.

4. Suggestions for future lessons:

 I would like about the size of your groups for next time. Remember, you want your groups to be
small enough so that everyone has a part in the investigation. Smaller group sizes are also more
manageable than larger groups.
 Before dismissing students to get into groups, I would give complete directions before they start
moving. Sometimes I even post them on the board for a reference.

Overall, great job!! You seem to have found your calling!
