Observe a class.
Using a checklist, find out the evident
classroom components.
Describe how the classroom is
structured/designed to allow everyone to
participate in the learning activities.
Relate the data in your checklist to the
learners behaviour.
Reflect on how classroom management
affects learning.
Your Tools

Your Analysis
1. How did the classroom organization and routines affect the
learners behaviour?
When they have rules and regulations inside the classroom, they
will feel that they are under the teachers authority. The
procedures inside the class will become more organized and
systematize. The learners will avoid doing unnecessary things
during the class because they have plenty of things to do, such
as graded recitations, quiz, seatwork, or activities.
2. What should the teacher have in mind when she/he designs the
classroom organization and routines? What theories and
principles should you have in mind?
The teacher considers the behaviour of the learners, he/she
thinks that the students will get bored when they have nothing to
do. The learners should be organized when they check their
assignments, quizzes and seatwork, for them to maximize their
Your Reflections
1. Improve yourself organizing your classroom in the future. In what
grade/year level do you see yourself? What routines and
procedures would you consider for this level? Why?
I see myself teaching in high school. I will always have graded
recitation as an activity every after lesson or topic. I will
encourage them to do peer tutoring.
2. Make a list of the rules you are likely to implement in this level.
Why would you choose these rules?
Student shall not be late
No exchanging of seats (follow the seat plan)
