1. OPENING THE BOOK

As the WinView is opened, the window below opens. You can choose the right machine from
the list, please notice the categories which were made previously in Book Information Editor.

If you cannot find the correct book and serial number is known, please choose any book and
press Open book. After that it's possible to search the book based on serial numbers, choose
File > Open book > By Codes. "Book" should be serial number, without prefix s/n.

2. ACTIONS ON MENU

2.1 FILE

The most important actions are made in this menu. Opening the books (Open book),
printing the books and pages are made here (Print book). It's possible to print currently open
picture or list, or specific page or whole book.

Pages and pictures can be printed to PDF file (if your computer supports this action) by
choosing File >Print >Print book/ picture/list/ selections. The whole book can be also printed
to PDF. Please notice that if you have added manually PDF documents to book, choosing
print > print book does not support those documents. You'll have to print separately manually
added PDF's.

2.2 EDIT

In WinView it's possible to use "Selection list" as a memo-pad (later explained). In edit file
you can choose Clear Selections and the selection list you've made will be erased.

2.3 ZOOM

Here you can find all reduction and magnification of size related actions.
ü Control + arrows: only picture is shown or only list is shown or both of them are shown at
the same time.
ü Control + shift + 2,4 or 8: this command will display the picture at ½,1/4 or 1/8 its full size
(Zoom).
ü Control + 2,4 or 8: enlarges 2 or 4 or 8 times (Zoom).
ü Control + W: fit to window
ü Control + 1 (full scale): shows the picture in original size

Common zooming with left button of mouse also works in WinView.

2.4 VIEW

ü Picture and list, Picture Only, list only: only picture is shown or only list is shown or
both of them are shown at the same time.
ü Selection list is sort of note pad, it's also utilized later in Shopping cart- application. By
double clicking items you can add items to your selection list. By pressing delete you can
erase the items from selection list. By pressing right button of mouse on the selection list,
you can see the option for visibility of selection list. The options are hide, dockable and

floating. Floating means that selection list is located on top of all windows. Dockable
means that the list is located in right corner below.

ü Table of contents adds the TOC to left side of window. By double clicking the right
assembly it's possible to go directly to specific structure.

2.5 SEARCH

Search is most valuable menu in WinView for sales and service personnel. It's possible to
search pictures and lists based on part numbers and descriptions. Also it's possible to search
documents which were added to book in Hotpoint. All searches work same way. Below is
example of searching screw, search > part description.

Choose match case or exact match if you want to search specific descriptions only. In first
box there's descriptions found. In next box is told in which assembly chosen screw belongs to
and on which page. In last box the line numbers are told and also the definitions once again.
By double clicking line you can see the page and drawing where the screw is.

2.6 OTHER BUTTONS

Blue plus and minus (on left): Shows main structures or both main structures and
substructures.
Pile of books (on right): Opening of book.
Document (on right): Hides/opens table of content.
Red arrows (on right): Browsing pages, similar to Internet browser.
Blue arrows (on right) : Browsing pages in page number order.
Bigger blue triangle (on right): Opens the substructures, works same as double clicking
the item (item must have small triangle in front of
position number showing that item has substructures).
Red tick (on right): Adds item to selection list, same as double clicking item
(which does not have substructures).
Black tick (on right): Removes item from selection list.
Shopping cart (on right): Hides or opens selection list.
Field glasses and book: Shows the preceding/following occurrence what you
have searched for.
