Overview
As a vehicle for learning, a measure of personal growth, and a canvas to display evidence of
learning, students, from Adult Basic Education (ABE), Career Technical Education (CTE), and
English Language Development (ELD), will create ePortfolios as part of their educational
experience. This ePortfolio is designed to be used not only as an assessment and guidance tool for
teachers but as a tangible product that students can grow with and continue learning with long
after they leave the halls of Highlands.
Implementation will occur over an extended period, likely over the course of the 2019-20 academic
year which begins in July. There will be four stages with an end goal of achieving the outlined
milestones for ABE, CTE, and ELD students.

Goals
1. All students will have the opportunity to learn how to create an ePortfolio.
2. Teachers will assign content to be added to the ePortfolios on a regular basis. Content
should include student choice, ownership, voice, and authentic learning opportunities.
