Method Of Teaching:
Inductive method was tried to use ; starting by question What is triangle?, then
through the activity students have to discover the properties for the three types of
triangles.
The problem in the method was that the cooperative learning was not well
organized and implemented in order to work on the Hands-On activity.
Style of Learning:
The lesson taught actively at the beginning of the
session, by asking open ended question , give time to
student to answer, discussion with student was good at
the beginning of the session.
It is better to display some videos about the triangle or
how to draw triangles in order to make session more
interactive and to motivate student to work on their
Assessment:
It is important to assess the student understanding and what is learned through the
session.
Students have to work on small activity to check if they understood.
The result of this activity will help teacher to assess the students understanding.
But, we can use other tool of assessment in order to assess students performance, I
thought about ladder tool assessment. It can be used to assess students different
skills like: Good Communicator skill, critical thinker, Reading skill, creativity, team
work...etc
At the end of the session the name of each student should be paste on a step of this
ladder under the skills he has.
Every time student show improvement , his name pastes on the upper step of ladder.
Objectives:
It is so important to use higher level of
thinking according to Blooms taxonomy,
so instead of the objective:
Explain the difference between each
type.
It is better to be: Create different
types of triangle.
Motivation:
Write the names of student on the board. Check the
names with a smiley face every time they answer.
This step is not well done, and I did not use it efficiently. I
wrote the names but I did not put any evaluation remarks
to motivate students.

Instead of writing names on board every time in a


session, we can use ladder assessment tool, it
can be used at the end of the session to assess
each student performance in the group work.

Each time we will paste a name on the step of


ladder, student will motivate to participate and work
more.
Presentation & Application
My lesson obviously lacked
technology:
In this phase, videos can be
shown about the types of
triangles, or a video on how to
draw different types of
triangles using compass and
rulers.
Classroom management was not maintained properly:
There was side talking, and I did not stop this when it was
done.
The seating of the students in groups was not set properly.
Cooperative learning was not applied well.
Groups should be formed previously and not randomly
Each member of the group should have a task to be responsible
of. For example:
Group A: Nadine, Jimmy, Carol, Mayanda
Nadine can be Group Leader
Jimmy can be Group Presenter
Carol can be Timekeeper
Mayanda can be a reader
Evaluation
Each student should work on a worksheet
(D)
Students will be assessed based on their
answers on worksheet (D).
This activity will help to assess student
understanding of the lesson.
Closure
Students know the 3 types of triangles.

Students can differentiate between the 3 types of


triangles
Students not only can differentiate also create
and draw different type of triangles using
Three main points in a classroom should be worked on to strengthen the
teaching method:

Classroom management should be well applied in order to achieve all the


objectives successfully.

Time management is very important to take into consideration in order to


maintain the classroom management, in my session, students finished their
activity before the time. Plan B was needed to keep students busy in the
remaining time.

Cooperative learning is very important to improve students achievement,


so how to design the group, how to distribute the tasks to each member is
very important and has a great effect on the academic achievement.
