THE VERB SHOULD

Should is a modal verb.


Modal verbs are those which need another verb to have a complete meaning.
Should is used for:

 ADVISE

. You should make your homework.


. They should study more.

 OPINION

. I think you should talk to her.


. In my opinion you should not go with them.

 SUGGESTION

. We should go on a trip.
. You should go visit your aunt.

BASIC FORM FOR POSITIVE SENTENCES

- SUBJECT + SHOULD + VERB + COMPLEMENT


. You should arrive earlier.
. She should go to back to college.

BASIC FORM FOR NEGATIVE SENTENCES

- SUBJECT + SHOULD+NOT + VERB + COMPLEMENT


. They shouldn´t eat much.
. We shouldn´t leave the home.

BASIC FORM FOR INTERROGATIVE SENTENCES

- SHOULD + SUBJECT + VERB + ?


. Should we go to the meeting?
. Should they sing at the show?
