An Alternat Ive To Charging Stations For Electri C Vehicles: Abstract
Vehicles
Abstract:
This paper presents the increase of electric vehicle numbers would lea d a considerable
reduction in polluting gases e mission. However, there are several challeng es related to the
connection of electric vehicles a nd renewable sources to the electrical power system. The main
objective of this work is to stud y the behavior of an electric vehicle battery r echarging system
composed of a set of photovoltaic solar panels connected to the electric power g rid.
Existing method:
The existing method des cribes the possible impact of electric vehicles would cause to the
electricity grid at peak times. The author designs a system of intelligent control using of
photovoltaic system. It is necessary to identify the potential problems which would be caused by
the increase of users with plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEVs) in the near future. According
in the coming years, it will not b e possible, with the current infrastructure, to meet the electricity
demand for PHEVs.
Proposed method:
The proposed method p roposes the incremental conductance, in whic h the solar panel
voltage reading (VPV) and the current (IPV). With these two variables, the c alculation of the
power variation of the system (_ P) and the voltage (_V) is performed. When the time derivative
of power equals to zero, it will be the MPP of the system.
