Revolution Counter - Removal
At the rear of the instrument uns crew the two knurled nuts and
detaeh t he earth wire and the two revolution oounter retaining pi e ces.
Unscrew the reroote control of the electric clock and detach the
"snap-on" cable connection (Cable colour - brown). i.'i ithdraw the t \'ro
illumination bulb holders and detach the "snap-on" cable oonnection for
the revolution counter (Cable colour - black/blue and black/brown).
The revolution OOWlter can now be w:i. thdra\vn.
The only testing of this unit is with the engine ticking over.
Place an MJ vol-tmeter on the terminals of the generator at the rear of
the right-hand. ca.mshaf"t, when a current should be recorded. As a rough
guide, the re should be a 1 volt output per 100 revs. Should the gen-
erator record a voltage output, due to its construct ion it can be
assumed that it is :f\mctioning accurately. Should t he revolution
counter instrument not then £'unction it must be r eplaced.
