Regarding: Evaporator Heater Fasteners and Correct Mounting

Important Information:

We would like to highlight the importance of correctly securing the heater elements to the
evaporator coil following replacement of the heater element/s or evaporator coil.

There are now two different types of fasteners in use for Star Cool equipment in the field.

Until recently all heaters have been secured with a flat washer, a spring washer and an M6 hex
head nut, all in stainless steel.
Present production now uses a flat washer and an M6 hex head nylon-insert lock nut, (Nylock).

It is extremely important that both the flat and spring washers are fitted for the M6 hex nut,
while the M6 Nylock must have the flat washer in place.

All M6 nuts of either configuration must be tightened sufficiently to ensure locking of the
spring or nylon insert and to prevent heaters becoming loose.
