“Show Yourselves To Be a Child of Ina”

Yes, we shout viva to our blessed virgin Mary, our dear Ina, our dear mother. Have we
encountered Ina? How about the feast of our lady of Penafrancia? What does this feast of our Ina
tells us? This feast tells us Mary’s personal relationship with us as a adopted children. We are the
child of Mary. This feast has a personal connection with us because this feast is all about us and
our relationship with her as our dear Ina. She is our mother, she takes care the people of Naga, not
only in Naga but also to all of us just like she take good care of her son, Jesus. The people here in
Naga city have a great devotion and faith to Ina.

During Traslacion, our Ina and Divino Rostro are being processed from the Penafrancia
Shrine down to Naga Metropolitan Cathedral. A thousands of people wait for hours, weaving their
handkerchiefs and expressive praises to Ina and Divino Rostro. Thousands of men are wearing
colorful headbands known as “voyadores”. Also, we have here called Fluvial Procession wherein
Ina and Divino Rostro is transferred from the daungan down to her home Basilica Minore.

We all know that people are showing themselves to be a child of Ina. The Bicolanos are
still loyal to Ina and Divino Rostro because Bicolanos are blessed by Ina. I’m so happy that many
people went to Naga City just to watch and witness Ina. They are coming together to praise God
through their devotion to Mary. Whether they be rich or poor, young or old, male or female all
proclaim or show their love and faith to Mary, their Ina and hoping that God will take good care
of them.
