It is with great pleasure that I offer this letter of recommendation to support Sibyl Beaulieu for
promotion in rank to Associate Professor at Brandman University. I have been an Academic
Advisor at Brandman since 2004 and the Director of Advising and Retention Services since 2014.
I have had the opportunity to work closely with Ms. Beaulieu for a number of years and have
always found her to be thoughtful, collaborative, and focused on the mission of creating a well-
supported Social Work fieldwork process. I have truly appreciated her willingness to assist with
questions in order to support my work with the advising staff and, ultimately, our Social Work
students. In addition, her energy and desire to create a professional field placement process
that supports the Social Work programs is a true testament of her commitment to excellence.

Sibyl’s expertise has been a critical element in her support of the 55 professional Advisors we
have on staff. Despite the physical distance between her and the 27 campuses in our
distributed system, Sibyl always makes herself available to students and staff who encounter
any number of challenges or questions related to the fieldwork process. In addition, she has
facilitated an effective advisory team (the Field Placement Advisory Council or FPAC) composed
of the fieldwork faculty and several of us from Advising to ensure there is an open line of
communication about this important element of the Social Work programs. The FPAC
continues to evolve but I can attest to the level of commitment Sibyl has to leveraging it as an
integral opportunity for mutual support.

Finally, Ms. Beaulieu has earned a sense of trust and respect among the Academic Advisors.
Her willingness to seek feedback from the Advising team and implement recommendations
about the fieldwork placement process that will support student progress reinforces the belief
that the Advisors are valued partners. We appreciate Sibyl and all she contributes to our
important support of one another’s needs.

I have no doubt Sibyl Beaulieu possesses all of the qualities you expect of a faculty member
seeking the rank of Associate Professor. I hope you will thoroughly review her supporting
