Community is supportive of the following:

1. A centralised downtown admin/cultural location seen as a great asset to Taupō community


2. Better connection from town to the lake and river
3. Be bold, be visionary
4. Enthusiasm for a bigger museum
5. Atrium unifying buildings, connecting existing and new
6. GLC and library getting an upgrade
7. A strong sense of place & proud of Taupō
8. A place to tell our stories (iwi + heritage)
9. Enough car parking
10. Pedestrian friendly walkways
11. Try to integrate green spaces and trees throughout
12. Creating an enclosed plaza and village feeling
13. Plaza could be more bold, stronger connection to town
14. South domain becoming an inviting / open space
15. Relocation of bowling and tennis clubs and arts centre
16. Leaving the tennis club on north domain
17. The Rotary and Women’s clubs in shared community spaces
18. Think about the next generation
Community has concerns of the following:

19. Mixing of tourists and courthouse supporters


20. Efficiency of the police to get out in an emergency
21. New road at landing reserve
22. Not enough car parking
23. Location of buses an issue in this location or further away
24. Traffic and pedestrians sharing space
25. Quantity of vehicular movement around & within the site
26. Connecting the town and precinct across Tongariro St
27. Isolating GLC and library with parking and roads
28. How do additional buildings add value to green space?
29. Alternative locations for civic admin building sought
30. Budgets, costs and rising rates
