• moderating group debates;
• writing the minutes of every meeting
 For ex: First meeting: Topic selection – Data
research method – division of tasks – timetable of
future meetings)
DATA RESEARCHER(S)
Everyone will be in charge of carrying out the
research, looking for interesting articles, books,
videos, documentaries related to the chosen topic,
or looking for famous criminal cases, by using
reliable sources.

Check out:
• Trobador+
• and Dialnet.com  for academic articles
DATA ANALYST
Will being responsible for:
- having a copy of all the articles collected
- eliminating all the sources that you are not going
to employ in your research
- analyzing data ( = identify the most useful and
“original” sources with the support of the rest of
the group)

sources, following the formal requirements of the
APA model.
TEXT EDITOR

to talk about

following the essay’s structure template ( no
more than 2 pages, in times new roman 12!)

ensuring that it has coherence and cohesion

the script and the power-point.
GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Power-point and script format.

PROJECT PLANNING

To be planned by your project

manager with the agreement of the
rest of the group.
1st meeting

Brainstorming:
What are you going to talk about?
What do you know about the topic?
How are you going to deal with the data
collection? (Are you going to work in
pairs, in little sub-groups of 3 or 4
people, or on you own?)
FASE DOS: Data research
Every member of the group will have:
• to find out one or more reliable source
• to analyze this data, preparing a brief
explanation about what you found out, that
you will present to your group during the
next meeting.

The deadline to complete the data research and

analysis is within one week after the first meeting.
FASE TRES: 2nd meeting
-Present the sources you have found out to the
rest of the group
-With the help of your text editor: select the topics
you are going to deal with
-Select the sources you are going to employ and
those you are not going to employ
-Help your data analysts to draw up the
bibliography
-prepare a list of points including the topics you
intend to address in your final project /
presentation; the sources you are going to make
reference; the structure of your script/oral
FASE CUATRO: SCRIPT

Build up your script, working all together, in pairs

or subgroups

The final script will be made up of:

- INTRODUCTION
- BODY OF THE SCRIPT
- CONCLUSIONS
FASE CINCO: project’s review
• Does your script fulfill the formal
requirements or is it too long? In this case,
some chunks of the text will have to be
summarized or cut (your text editor will do
it, with the help of the rest of the group and
he/she will assess if it’s coherent and
make sense, that there are not
repetitions…)
• your language editor will have to correct
any eventual mistakes
FASE SEIS: Power-point
presentation
Prepare a power point for the oral presentation
(that will have a duration of a max of 10mins in
total, every member will have to speak for about 2
mins.)
FASE SIETE: Power-point
presentation
Test your performance as a group! Are you
able to present you work within the time limit
(10 mins)?
DEADLINE:
Not later than 7th of December (or before) you
have to upload your project on the virtual campus.
Your final project must contain the power-point
presentation and a PDF made up of:
-the final script of your oral presentation
-the bibliography of sources and materials
employed
-the minutes of the meetings done;
-a brief description about the work you have done
in the group as an individual (no more than one
paragraph!)
EVALUATION

I will evaluate the originality by which you have

dealt with the topic and your ability to present your
work orally in the clearest way, by using
criminological vocab in English.
Thank you
for your attention!
