1. Assume that the central angle of a horizontal curve equals 8o 24’, the station of the PI is 64 + 27.46, and terrain
conditions require the minimum radius of 2864.79 ft. Calculate the PC and PT stationing, the external, middle
ordinate distances, and degree of curvature using chord definition for this curve.

2. A highway curve has a radius R of 650 ft, I = 10o00’ and PI station = 3 + 29,
 Calculate length of the curve (L), PC, and PT.

 Layout the curve data, deflection angles, and incremental chords in a tabular format. Setup stations by 100
ft in the format of “integer + 00”.

3. Layout the curve data, deflection angles, and incremental chord, and chord distance in a tabular format for the
following curve data.
I = 11o00’, Dc = 5o00’ (degree of a curve by chord definition), PC = 77+80.00, and PT = 79+00.
 Determine the radius and length of the curve.
 Set up stations ending with + 00 or +50
