Apply using MyBEM Online Registration System

or manually by submitting Form B1

Be accompanied with;

(1) A Processing Fee (RM50) and Registration Fee (RM300) in Postal Order / Money Order / bank draft /
cheque / online banking (Maybank2U, CIMB Clicks or RHBNow)

(2) Certificate of training

i. be made on original company’s letterhead addressed to the Registrar of BEM.
ii. The certificate shall state the period of practical training, position held and summary of the
work you’ve undergone (for a minimum of 3 years)
iii. The certificate shall be certified by a Professional Engineer(s) of the same discipline as applicant
whom applicant has obtained the training. His/her name, PE No. and branch/ discipline of
engineering must be clearly stated.
iv. IF applicant has been working with more than one (1) company in the 3 years, then the applicant
must submit the other certificate of training using the other(s) company letterhead and signed
by the respective PE under whom the applicant has undergone the training.
v. For those in teaching profession, he/she must fulfil at least one (1) year industrial training in the
specified branch of engineering, supervised by a Professional Engineer in the same branch of
engineering.

(3) Copy of Letter on Passing of the PAE or copy of MIEM certificate.

(4) Copy of degree certificate.

(5) Copy of Letter of Approval as GE with BEM.

(6) Copy of birth certificate or identity card.

(7) Certificate of attendance/evidence of compliance to Regulation 22(1)(b) i.e :

(a) Mandatory courses
(i) Code of Ethics.
(ii) Health and Safety at Work.
(iii) Engineering Management Practices.
(iv) Courses related to graduate’s branch of engineering.

(b) Professional Development (30 units)

(i) technical talks.
(ii) seminars.
(iii) society / association meetings.
(iv) community services.

(8) A passport sized photo.

Important Note : Item 2 – 7 must be certified by an active Professional Engineer in the same branch /
discipline as the applicant.
 UPGRADING
Manual Application : AS A PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERUPGRADING AS A
Submit the Form B1 and all the above supporting documentation to BEM
PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER
Online Application :
· Fill in the form via MyBEM Online System.
· Upload all the supporting documentation.
· Complete the payment details.
· Send the printed Form B1, hardcopy of the supporting documentation and payment to BEM
within 4 weeks.
Important Note :
BEM will process your application without waiting for the originals. However, the originals are still needed for
verification purposes within 4 weeks from the online submission.
