Competences to develop:

Steps, phases of the learning strategy to develop


The project-based learning strategy, adopted for in this course, involves
3 stages: 1) Organization and resources, 2) Design, and 3)
Development. In this activity guide, a stage 0 (introduction to the
course) has been added. This stage presents the foundations of
industrial automation, including its history, terminology and
characteristics.
Activities to develop

The student has to create a conceptual map in this activity. The


methodology (or steps) to create this map is described as follows:

1) Reading of concepts:

- Read the text of historical review, control system fundamentals,


examples of control systems (pages 1 - 10 of this document).

Remark: This reference is contained in the knowledge environment


(UNIT 1).

2) Create a conceptual map of the history and terminology of a


control system. This conceptual map has to be clearly described.

All activities described in this guide are developed in


three environments: knowledge, collaborative learning
and monitoring and evaluation.

This conceptual has to be included in a document, which

• Conclusions.
• Bibliography (in APA standard).

After doing this document, it has to be submitted into


the monitoring and evaluation environment. The
submission deadline is indicated in the course agenda.

General guidelines for the collaborative work

The activities indicated in this document can be


organized by the students as follows:

to the collaborative forum for sharing your
opinions.

group. He provides supervision, direction and
motivation in individual and collaborative activities.

Communicator: the person who communicates all


aspects between the tutor and the group. He also
communicates appreciations taken from the leader.
