This sensor detects alcohol concentration through breath like a breathalyzer. It uses tin dioxide to provide an analog resistive output based on alcohol levels. The sensor requires 5V power and less than 750mW for heating. It connects to an ADC for digital conversion and then to a microcontroller for processing the reading and sending it to an output display.

This alcohol sensor is suitable for detecting alcohol concentration on our
breath, just like a common breathalyzer. It has a high sensitivity and fast response time. Sensor provides an analog resistive output based on alcohol concentration. The drive circuit is very simple, all it needs is one resistor.
A simple interface could be a 0-3.3V ADC.
Features: 5V DC or AC circuit
Requires heater voltage
Operation Temperature: -10 to 70 degrees C Heater consumption: less than 750mW Dimensions: 16.8mm diameter 9.3 mm height without the pins Structure and configuration of MQ-3 gas sensor is shown as Fig (Configuration A or B), sensor composed by micro AL2O3 ceramic tube, Tin Dioxide (SnO2) sensitive layer, measuring electrode and heater are fixed into a crust made by plastic and stainless steel net. The heater provides necessary work conditions for work of sensitive components. The enveloped MQ-3 have 4 pin,4 of them are used to fetch signals, and other 2 are used for providing heating current.
Standard measuring circuit of MQ-3 sensitive components consists of
2 parts. one is heating circuit having time control function (the high voltage and the low voltage work circularly ). The second is the signal output circuit; it can accurately respond changes of surface resistance of the sensor. Interface with Microcontroller

O/P of Amplifier is fed to ADC.
Digital 8 bit data from ADC is passed through a port of
Microcontroller
The math operation is done by the controller to respective value form
Finally the sensor reading is sent to O/P device like LCD
