In this work, by using two different piston design used in the petrol 4-stroke

engine are used for structural and thermal having two different materials one by
one for more dense study. A CAD software �SolidWorks� is used for designing piston
models used for this study and structural and thermal analyses are performed on
these two model. The stress, strain and deformation analyzation is done on the
piston designs by applying pressure on it in the structural analysis. By applying
temperature on the piston surface, we analyzed the thermal flux and temperature
distribution in the thermal analysis. By observing the both analyses results, we
can decide whether which one of our designed pistons is safe or not under applied
load conditions. Thus in the end a comparative study is made by showing different
results of Analysis of piston by using three materials available in the market used
for piston designing; i.e. Al 6061, Al 7050 T7451, Gray Cast iron . In addition, a
meaningful effort has been done to find out the best suitable material for the
Piston.
