Assignment for Group Project

You are requested by a company to suggest the improvement options to improve their steam
system. Please prepare a simple technical proposal and presentation for that purpose.

Content of the Proposal

- Description of case study (5 marks) – create your own case study

o Steam system
o Data (heat requirement of process)
- Improvement measures (7 marks)
o Current state
o Improvement measures (and concept diagram, if applicable)
o Potential savings in energy and cost
o Capital cost requirement
- Recommendations (3 marks)
o Payback period
o Summary table of improvement measures
- Appendix Section (5 marks)
o All the parameters used in calculation/modelling
o Screenshot of the tool

3. Please submit your proposal before 26 December 2019
4. This is a group project. A team should not consist of more than 4 persons. Please appoint a
team leader. The team leader should submit the team member names before 14 November
2018.
