Napoleon strikes again! Another
poor judgment call by the so called
leader and president of Animal
Farm. It is on the 14th of February
1941, in Manchester, England, that
the leader of Animal Farm, Napoleon
sold the wood stock to one of the
neighbouring farmers. Pilkington
and Frederick have been pondering
about buying the wood stock from
the farm for weeks. On that day,
Mr.Whymper and Napoleon agreed
to sell the pile to Frederick.
Napoleon says that the wood pile
had to be sold in exchange for
money so that the farm could afford
the materials to build the windmill.
Since Napoleon is pig-headed and
decided to play both farmers, all he
got in exchange for the wood pile
was a suitcase full of counterfeit
money. Isn't that a great decision by
a leader?
Negotiations started with
the representative of
Animal Farm, Mr. Whymper
who was going from farm to
farm and gathering details
and offers from the other
two farmers, ( Pilkington
and Frederick). Every time
Napoleon would ??accept??
the offer from one of the
farmers, the very next day,
he would say that this offer
was a scam or a catch and
that they would now be
business partners with the
other farmer. For most of
the animals, the deal seems
to have been concluded a
bit too easily. Ever since the
deal was concluded,
tensions have been on the
rise. Rumors are spreading
that an attack is imminent
from Frederick since
Napoleon has been on and
off with the deal. Comrade
Napoleon has been playing
both farmers and creating
chants saying death to both
Laws Are Made t o be Changed
What is a law? A law is something
put in place by the authority to
keep or restore order in their
community or home but wherever
there is a law, there is someone
there to break them. On Animal
Farm, the laws are broken by the
very animals who created them,
the authorities. They are then
changed to make it appear to the
rest of the farm that they are
indeed following the rules. Their
excess of power leads them to
change the farm motto, begin to
behave like humans and change
the 7 commandments of Animalism
to fit their own needs.
On Animal Farm, the farm motto
was something that was taught to
the animals to summarize their 7
commandments and to let the
animals know what the authority
believed was right and what they
believed was wrong. At first, the
animals are taught the motto ?Four
legs good, two legs bad? and then
later on are taught ?Four legs good,
two legs better?, which is the
complete opposite of what the first
motto stated which shows how
hypocritical the authority, the pigs,
really are. Their power leads them
to betray the very concept that

made them rebel, which is that any
thing going upon four legs was a
friend and that any thing going
upon only two legs is an enemy.
Secondly, throughout the years, the
pigs started behaving more and
more like humans, the exact
opposite of what was instructed by
Old Major, an elderly pig on the
farm that inspired the rebellion.
They started by reading and
writing, then began to drink and
live in farmer Jones?house, their
previous owner and finally started
walking on two legs. These changes
in behaviour would have never
been permitted by the animals
without the pigs having tricked the
others in believing that they were
following the rules of Animal Farm
by changing the 7 commandments
of the farm, the rules the pigs set
following the successful rebellion.

Napoleon Porker, or Comrade Napoleon, was a large, fierce looking Berkshire
boar who was born on the 14th of march of 1938. He is most famously known
for leading the first and only animal rebellion, on a farm in north Manchester,
England. His reign as leader turned him from a decent, intelligent pig into a
ruthless, selfish tyrant who ended up betraying the animals on the farm, his
followers, for his own personal needs and killed any animal who opposed
themselves to his rules with the aid of dogs he trained to do one thing, to kill.

In the early days after the rebellion, Napoleon was a much more quiet
character. His reign was shared with a fellow pig named Snowball MacSwine, a
more ?well spoken? pig with the goal to make the farm better for everyone.
This individual was chased of the farm by Napoleon because he felt Snowball
would interfere with his plan to slowly manipulate the farm into following him
and to use them for his own well being. Napoleon learned to read and write
and then eventually used the excuse that he needed more comfort and food
than the others because of these acquired traits.

As time passed, Napoleon fed the animals with more propaganda through his
closest ally Squealer McBullcrap. Slowly but truly, the 7 commandments the
animals had set at the beginning started to change to fit Napoleon and the
other pigs?needs. The farm motto was changed from ?Four legs good, two legs
better? to ?Four legs good, two legs better?and the main rule of Animalism
written on the back of the farm barn was changed from ?All animals are equal.?
to ?All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.? As Porker?s
reign of terror went on, the rules that were set were nothing but an illusion to
the rest of the farm that there was some type of order on the farm when in
reality, the leaders were breaking every single one of them.
Napoleon grew in power and this power eventually got to his head, even to the
point that he became hypocritical and betrayed the very concept of Animalism,
being the concept that all animals are good and that all humans are bad, the
