Abstract

Three-dimensional printing is a relatively unexplored topic among the researchers, it is a rapidly

developing and growing industry. There are various applications of 3D Printing for individuals as

well as many of the preexisting industries. The aim of this study is to explore the status quo and

the future of this industry. The study would be exploratory in nature and would describe the

inception, development, application and outlook of the 3D Printing industry. The exact definition

of 3D Printing is debated by many people till date as it can be subtractive or additive, it is rather

considered to be an umbrella term which generally includes the processes of printing or creating

three dimensional objects through various available methods from the beginning or a part of the

whole. The study also touches upon the problems caused by 3D Printing with regards to protection

of intellectual property and suggests some ways to make it more ethical and developed industry.
