Tom Cruise is a very famous actor. He was born on the 3rd. July
1962, in Syracuse, New York. He was cute and a bit fat when he was a
baby. Tom’s father was an engineer and his mother was a teacher. His
parents divorced when he was twelve years old. When he was a child and
a teenager, things were very difficult because his family was very poor.
Life at school was more difficult because he is dyslexic. Tom’s mother
married a salesman, and the family didn’t stay anywhere for a very long
time. Tom studied drama at the prestigious Neighbourhood Playhouse.
His first wife was Mimi Rogers. They married in 1987 and divorced on the 4 th. February
1990. He married on the 24th. December 1990 with Nicole Kidman. They adopted two children.
Tom and Nicole divorced in 2001.
His first really big film was “Top Gun” in 1986, Tom was only twenty four years old. Tom
was nominated for three Academy Awards and received three Golden Globe Awards. He received an
Academy Award for best actor in his film “Born on the 4th. of July”.
Tom Cruise started dating Katie Holmes in April 2005. Their daughter was born on the 18 th.
April 2006. Tom and Katie married on the 18th. November 2006.
