3 Reasons Why the Gods Were More Powerful than the Titans

1. Titanomachy

Titanomachy was the war between the Gods and the Titans. It happened right after Zeus made

Kronos vomit out his children. Thought Co. said, “Kronos married his sister Rhea but was told

by his parents that he would be defeated by his own son. To thwart this prophecy, he swallowed

each of his and Rhea's children as they were born.” Then, Zeus was born and grew up to become
strong. He made Kronos vomit out his siblings. Soon after that, Titanomachy started. This war

went on for 10 years without a winner. According to Chris Camfield of Thought Co. the Gods

triumphed over the Titans because they were helped by older powers. This was the biggest war

they would have.

2. Humans

Gods were more connected with humans. The Gods created humans and were connected with

humans and their society. Titans on the other hand, were evil beings that didn’t want anything to

do with humans. Also, since many Gods had affairs with humans, children were born that were

half God half mortal. The Gods would come down and visit their children and their affairs from

time to time. According to Mark Cartwright of Ancient History Encyclopedia, Zeus had so

many affairs with humans that Hera became extremely jealous and vengeful.

3. Leadership
During the Titanomachy, the Gods were lead with strong leadership. They had many allies who

decided to fight with them (even some titans) and worked very well together. All this teamwork

was led by Zeus. Zeus was the leader of the Gods in the Titanomachy and is the top god.

According to Chris Camfield of Thought Co., Zeus and the Gods were able to defeat the Titans

after Zeus was given lightning and thunder from the Cyclopes. Since Zeus was so closely related

to the Titans and the Gods, he could’ve chosen either way, but after he was born he made Kronos

spit out his siblings which started his path to leader of the Gods. After the war, Zeus became

ruler of the sky and earth. He is the most well known God.
