My current CGPA is 7.08 as of Semester 3. However I have progressed from a

CGPA of 6.29 in my first year, to a GPA of 8.59 in the 3rd Semester. I am
confident that I shall continue my upward progress in the coming Semesters too.

2. Extra-curricular Activities at FLAME University

I have taken part in all of the inter house sports events during the last two years,
ranging from team sports like cricket and football to individual sports like
athletics. I am the goalkeeper for the FLAME football team and am slated to become
the captain next year. Also, I have been an integral part of FLAME Kurukshetra
Organizing committee and the Sports committee for the past two years. I headed the
Football event in FLAME Kurukshetra 2018. I have represented FLAME in many
inter college football tournaments also.

3. What do you think you can offer to this program? Also specify the skill sets you
possess that you can offer to support the academic workshops (e.g. writing, critical
analysis, specializing in subject areas)
Sports have been an integral part of my life at FLAME for the past two years.
FLAME is an institute where, academics and extra-curricular activities are
given equal importance. Apart from academics, I will be able to guide students
in extra-curricular activities too. I think I share a good rapport with the
management, the faculty as well as members of the student body. I feel this asset
of having a good network amongst the FLAME community will go a long way in
my attempts to help the first year students get acquainted with FLAME and help
them settle in better. A major part of my contribution would be helping the first
years in understanding how one can balance academics and extra-curricular
activities like sports and culturals. Since I am finance major, I can help the first
years with business related subjects like quantitative methods, basic economics
and basic science subjects. Being a business school student I am well versed
with computer related skills like Microsoft excel. I feel the first years should
learn Microsoft office well in their first year itself because it is really helpful to
them in most of the courses. I see this as an opportunity to prevent the first years
from making wrong decisions commit the mistakes I made in my first year.

4. Please specify how Peer Mentoring Program will contribute to your personal growth.
This program will help me improve and enhance my communication skills. By
this program I will be able to manage things better which will be really helpful to
me in sports management. This is an important skill which I have to develop.
This program will help me develop and improve my leadership abilities and
skills as well. By interacting with new people my confidence will improve and I
will be motivated to work better in the future. Apart from this I want to become
a mentor so that I can guide the first years in the same way my peer mentor
guided me in my first year. It would give me immense happiness if I were able to
do the same. I see it as a way to give back to others what I have received from my
mentor.

5. Why do you think this is an important program?

According to me, peer mentoring is an extremely important program because it
guides the new students in the FLAME way of life. Most of the students would be
staying away from their families for the first time and peer mentors can be there
for these new students as a support system. Since FLAME is far away from the
city, the first years would find it difficult to adjust to the surroundings in the
start, having a peer mentor who would relate to them and understand their
situation is really helpful. This program will help students to make friends easily
and adapt to their college life better. The way we study is also unique from other
places and adjusting here might be a little overwhelming for the students. Peer
mentors will make this change of environment and life a smoother process.
