LED series/parallel array wizard
The LED series/parallel array wizard is a calculator that will help you design large arrays of LEDs.
The LED calculator was great for single LEDsbut when you have several, the wizard will help you
arrange them in a series or combined series/parallel configuration. The wizard determines the
current limiting resistor value for each portion of the array and calculates power consumed. All you
need to know are the specs of your LEDs and how many you'd like to use.

Solution 0: 3 x 8 array, 1 extra LED
R = 22 ohms
R = 22 ohms
R = 22 ohms
R = 22 ohms
+12V R = 22 ohms
R = 22 ohms
R = 22 ohms
R = 22 ohms
R = 330 ohms
The wizard says: In solution 0:
each 22 ohm resistor dissipates 19.8 mW
the wizard says the color code for 22 is red red black
the wizard thinks 1/4W resistors are fine for your application
the 330 ohm resistor dissipates 297 mW
the wizard says the color code for 330 is orange orange brown
the wizard thinks 1/2W resistors are needed for your application
together, all resistors dissipate 455.4 mW
together, the diodes dissipate 2850 mW
total power dissipated by the array is 3305.4 mW
