Through Space and Metal

The year is 2105, there was a massive war among the entire planet that has left it hanging by a

thread. There is one government left to lead those people that are left, the R.W.U.F.

(Recovering World United Foundation). They own a lab in the middle of the Pacific Ocean that

is working on solutions for the destruction. The lab is a huge dome made of concrete a few feet

thick near the top and many miles thick near the seafloor.It is surrounded by huge structures built

to turn the water in the surrounding ocean into oxygen for the scientists to breathe. The

remaining gas from this process is released to turn turbines that create power that power the

entire lab. There is a constant low humming from the artificial sun lighting at the top of the

dome. The very center is where the lift to the surface is. Further out is where the housing is for

the scientists when they have a small chance to leave. They are small houses in the shape of

round edged boxes with little in them. Around the lift is the scientists studying a way to fix the

planet. Hidden outside these areas is the R.W.U.F.’s secret project, a means of going somewhere

else instead of saving earth. This project is a portal to another dimension they have created. It’s

locked in an enclosure and only studied ,for now. No one knows where is goes yet. To keep

suspicion down the lab allows occasional visitors. Today those visitors will be children from the

remaining school.

One such child is Xack a young boy around the age of 14. Xack has dull brown

hair and slightly grayed skin like everyone else he knows. Scientist say this is because of how

bad of shape the world is it can't quite support people fully. He is quite fit for people in his time.

Most people are fat and sick from the chemical food they eat. All of his clothing is all made of

the same mostly plastic material with a very small amount of fibers mixed in for flexibility.

Xack is a troublesome kid who has been caught doing many illegal things. The list goes on and

on, reversing the vacuum powered facilities at The One Garden, defacing the R.W.U.F. flag

with mushroom clouds, dumping unsafe materials into The Lake, and many more. The only

reason he is protected is his parents position in the R.W.U.F.He always carries a slingshot, and

some magnets to vandalize things wherever he goes. Because he is a child his punishment has

been reduced to months of work to fix the damages he has caused. He is very excited to go on

this field trip for many reasons. For one he is interested in what they do in the lab and another is

he wants vandalize it. He put on his favorite green shirt grabbed his trusty slingshot, some

magnets,

a chemical food capsule and then headed off to the school.At school they immediately jumped in

the bus and it flew off towards the Pacific Ocean.

The bus rocket landed down on the landing pad at the top of The Lab . There they were

greeted by a woman who introduced herself as their tour guide.

“Hello children,” the tour guide said in an overly cheery voice, “Welcome to The Lab,

follow me this way.”

The tour guide took them into the small building and asked them to enter the lift. She

then closed the door and the lift started down. As it descended the children could see the ocean

life near the top and it darkened around them as they descended then the lift neared The Lab and

suddenly light flooded their vision.

“And now here we are in The Lab,” The tour guide announced, “now children if you

look this way you can see all of The Lab.” It was a bustling display with scientists everywhere

working on all kinds of projects, some were working with plants others with ground even a

bunch working with the water and the very air they breathed.

A kid in the back questioned, “ Hey what's that at the edge of the dome?”

“The edge of the dome? What? There isn't anything there! “The tour guide exclaimed

suspiciously.

“Huh strange,” thought Xack “wonder why she is acting like that.”

The lift landed with a slow hiss at the floor of The Lab. The guide led them off and

started showing the children the restorative projects they are working on but as she was doing

that Xack decided to sneak away and head for the edge of the dome. When he got there he found

a box surrounded by a fogged glass with a door made of solid wood. He opened the door and

inside was a circular thing floating in the air. It looked like it was a light grayscale ellipse. It

glowed a strange glow. Suddenly the strange object started to spin and Xack was sucked up and

pulled into the portal.

Xack suddenly awoke, looked around, and saw a silhouette of what looked like what the

stories say earth used to look like ,then he realized that below him felt cold . He rubbed his eyes

and realized everything else was made of metal but it was shaped like flowers and other objects

that earth supposedly used to have. On the horizon Xack saw several robots walking towards

him. As they approached he could see they were painted in a dark blue.

They came towards him and yelled in a metallic robot voice, “Flesh creature surrender

yourself you are in violation of code 51-0-​α no flesh allowed.”

“Wait what, “Xack exclaimed as he tried to get away but the robots caught him almost

immediately and dragged him away. They threw him into a jail cell where he could barely see

anything. He sat there for a while then he looked around. In the cell next to him he saw

something that looked like metal.

“Hello? Anyone there?” Xack questioned.

“Hello flesh creature, ” replied a sad broken robotic voice.

“My name is Xack. Who are you?” asked Xack.

“My name is Trobo, ” said back the voice. The sun came through the holes in the side of

the jail block and Xack could see what looked like a thin tall framed broken robot.

“I was thrown down here long ago,” Trobo stated “ I was made different from the others,

I refused to obey the tyrannical rule of Titanium Fist.”

“Who is Titanium Fist?” asked Xack.

“The leader of the robots of this world,” replied Trobo.

Xack suddenly noticed a small bend in the bars between the two cells. He used most of

his strength to pull apart the bars so he could get to Trobo. He used some of the metal lying

around the cell to fix up some of the damages to Trobo from all the time he has spent in the cell.

Then Trobo used his robot arms to break them out of the jail cell.

“Alright we need a plan,”mentioned Xack.

“Alright,”Trobo explained “first we need to take out the sentries around the top of the

throne room then we go for Titanium Fist.”

The two of them snuck their way out of the cell block and up to the top area. They each

snuck up behind a sentry and deactivated them.

“What is happening!” boomed a robotic voice, “I am Titanium Fist! None surpass me!”

Down on the floor level, sitting on the throne was a giant robot the size of a small house with

spikes all across its shoulders and fists that gleamed in the light as though they were made of a

shinier harder metal.

Our two heroes jumped down from above ,landing epically, and exclaimed together” we

are Xack and Trobo and we are here to end your tyranny.”

“Ah Trobo, so you have come back, and you flesh creature you are puny and weak do

you really think you can win this fight,” boomed Titanium Fist.

“No you are wrong we will beat you because you are evil,” announced Trobo.Titanium

Fist got up from his throne and went in for a punch. They both dodged to the side.

Titanium Fist was focused on destroying Trobo so Xack took a second to come up with a way to

beat Titanium Fist. He thought and thought, then he had an idea. Out of his pocket he pulled his

slingshot and a magnet ,he took pieces of the bottom of his shirt and tied them around the

magnet. He then shot the magnet with his slingshot and the magnet stuck to the top of the throne

room. Xack then ran up to the top of the room and he swung on the shirt material onto Titanium

Fist’s back.

“Quick Trobo do you know how I stop him,” Xack yelled as he struggled to stay on with

Titanium Fist swinging his arms at his back to get him off.

“There should be a square panel on the center of his back,” Trobo explained, “try to open

that.” Xack opened the hatch and saw a bunch of wires, then he exclaimed,” what now!?”

“Just introduce a chemical or two if you can find any, “Trobo stated.

“Wait that's it!” Xack exclaimed as he grabbed the food capsule he had in his other

pocket and dropped it into Titanium Fist’s back.

As Xack jumped off Titanium Fist began to shake and then his entire body turned a dark

orange,” No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Titanium Fist yelled as his body disintegrated.

“And we eat that stuff?!” Xack retorted.

Xack slowly stood up to see robots entering the room from all sides. “oh no ,Trobo looks

like we're not finished yet! Xack said .

“No, no, Xack these are all the kind residents of this world that Titanium Fist had locked under

his tyrannical rule,”

“Hooray,” yelled a voice.

“You saved us,” yelled another.

“Go Trobo and fleshy creature!” more shouted.

“Whoa, ” Trobo shouted as they picked him up.

The robots carried Trobo through the room and set him on the throne “What? You want

me to lead you, “Trobo asked pointing to himself.

“Yes!” shouted a hundred robots at once.

“Wow. Well I graciously accept your offer and promise to lead you kindly and never

turn down the wrong path, ” Trobo announced regally.

He kneeled down at the side of the throne pedestal and he softly stated, ”And Xack if

there is anything I can do for you just ask and remember I and all the robots are ever so thankful

for you and the good deeds you have done.”

“Well if it's no trouble I kind of just want to go home now that this is all done,” Xack

replied.

“Well you’re in luck I just searched the databases and there is mention of something

called a portal that is said to lead to another world, may that be how you return,” Trobo replied.

“Yes, can we start off for it immediately!” Xack exclaimed.

“Sure thing buddy, sure thing,” Trobo replied so off they headed. They walked across the

barren metal plains and under a huge metal tree they found it, a portal.

“Well I guess this is goodbye then,” Xack sadly stated.

“Xack we are all proud of you, you saved us, all of us remember that,” Trobo said.

“I will, I always will,” Xack replied. As Xack walked into the portal he looked back and

saw Trobo proudly standing there with all the robots around him and he thought to himself,

“things are going good for him now, I’m proud for him he's changed a lot from the near pile of

scrap I met him as.” Xack stepped into the portal and everything went black.

He awoke in the lab. He noticed only a few minutes had passed but groups of

security officers were waiting for him. They took him out and locked him in the rocket bus.

When Xack returned home his mom was mad that he had ripped his shirt and when he got to his

room he saw his punishment time was doubled, but despite this all he was happy to be home.

For the months that followed Xack worked on many projects to pay off his punishment and

afterwards never caused an issue again.

Trobo continued to lead the robots to a new age of peace and great achievement. They

grew to understand their end of the portal and after much work came to the human's world. They

discussed with the R.W.U.F. how to save their world, without leaving it behind.The robots were

integrated into the human's new growing society to help them recover. One day much later while

Xack was at The One Garden enjoying the beauty in the world that never faded he saw Trobo.

The two catch up like all good friends that haven't seen each other in some time do. The year

was 2106.
