REINFORCEMENT

Within the training period, I came across the reinforcement works of columns, slab &
beams, raft foundations, staircases, roof beams & water tanks. All the reinforcements
were carried out according to the drawings & specifications.
In drawings a standard notation was used to indicate bars.
E.g. 2 Y 16- 04-200 T

2 -No. Of bars
Y -Type of bar (mild steel or Tor steel)
16 - Dia. Of bar
04 -Bar mark
200 -Bar spacing
T -Location of bar (top or bottom)

According to the drawings, bar schedules were prepared. Bars were cut & bent, referring
bar schedules.
Bar schedules were as per the following format.
