CHAPTER IV

PRESENTATION, ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA

Results of the Study

This chapter discusses the data analysis and findings from 38 questionnaires

completed by the ABM211 students of STI College Las Pinas, to complete the study

conducted by the researchers. The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of

sleeping hours to the average grade of the students.

Table 1 shows the frequency and percentage distribution of respondents according

to gender. As shown that among 38 students, 23 or 60.50% are females, 9 or 23.70% are

males, and 6 or 15.80% are unknown. It implies that the majority of the population of the

respondents are female.

Table 2 shows that among 38 students who participated in the survey, only 1

student, 2.60% in the population sleeps 2 hrs. 6 students, or 15.80% of the population,

sleeps about 4 hours. 9 students or 23.30% of the total respondents sleeps 5 hours. 10

students, about 26.30% sleeps 6 hours. 7 students or 18.40% of the population sleeps 7

hours. And, 5 students, or about 13.20% of the population, sleeps 8 hours.

Table 3 shows that among 38 students who participated in the survey only 1

student or 2.60% of the population got 92 average grade. 3 students or 7.90% got 91

average grade. 4 students got 10.50% got 89 average grade. 5 students or 13.20% got 88

average grade. 10 students or 26.30% got 87 average grade. 3 students or 7.90% got 86

average grade. 7 students or 18.50% got 85 average grade. 3 students or 7.90% got 84

average grade. 1 student or 2.60% got 83 average grade. 1 student or 2.60% got 80

average grade.

According to this survey, most of the students from ABM211 are sleep deprived, first

because of social media. Followed by working on school works. Next is watching series.

Then playing games. Followed by no reasons and lastly, because they deal with insomnia.
