1.3 Online Assignment System (OAS)

The Online assignment submission (OAS)


is a system that caters for all the University’s
needs in terms of receiving assignments from
students, making them available to tutors to
mark, returning grades, comments and marked
work to students.
Assignment Submission deadlines

- Each assignment has a “deadline” which is the


final date of receipt by the University for marking.
- For a TMA, the “deadline” is the last date for the
assignment to be submitted online.
- Submission of assignments by fax and email will
not be accepted.
Request for Extension

- The approving authorities:


- Up to 7 days – the tutor can
approve
- Up to 14 days – the course
coordinator
- More than 14 days – the dean
- Late submission without
permission - penalty of 30%
- No extension for TMA2

Step 1: Accessing the website

• Select the course and class for which you wish to submit
your assignment

• Select the appropriate TMA that you wish to submit

Step 4: Uploading and submitting the TMA file

• Locate and select the file that you wish to submit on your computer
and click the “Open” button
• Confirm the file that you are about to submit and click the
“Submit” button

Step 5: Confirming the submission of the TMA file

• Read the message box to confirm the file that you are about to
submit is correct and click the “OK” button

Step 8: Extension Request
1. Click on the “Extension Request”
tab to display the e-“T-EX” form.

2. Select the course.

requesting submission extension.
4. Select the duration
of the extension.
5. Upload a supporting
document, e.g., a medical
certificate (optional).
7. Finally, click on the “Submit” button.

application at “Assignment Status” tab, click on the

Step 9: Re-submission Request
1. Click on the “Re-submission Request”
tab to display the e-“T-RS” form.

2. Read the instructions carefully.

3. Select the course and assignment for


which you are requesting for re-submission.

4. Give the reason(s) for your


request.

5. Finally, click the “Submit”


button.

application is shown here.
You can also click on the “Re-submission request”
status at “Assignment Status” tab to see the
approval remark at the e-“T-EX” form.
IMPORTANT REMINDER:
Once your “Re-submission request” has been approved by your Course Coordinator, you will
only have 2 calendar days from the date of approval to re-submit your TMA into the OAS.
