2.1 Module installation
Each module is packed separately in rugged. Upon receipt of the shipment, and
prior to unpacking, check for any exterior damage to the shipping packaging. If there
is any damage save the original shipping package. If any damage is observed,
continue the inspection for any internal damage as described in the manual
“REPLACEMENT AND MAINTENANCE”.
Remove the module from the package and insert it into the magazine ensuring
good connections with the rear terminals then fix into rack with screws.
2.2 External cables connection

3. Quick Operation Instruction

3.1 System Check
Ensure inverter system cabling is properly connected and screws are firmly
fastened.

2 / 13
CVT9K-120/208-RT Inverter Power System Quick Installation and Operation Instructions

 Check for correct DC input polarity and ensure that the input voltage is within
operating range.
 Check AC input L/N/PE, ensure that the input voltage is within operating
range.
 Ensure ground cabling is properly connected to system.
 Ensure all inverter modules have been properly installed and that the locking
pin is in the lock position.
 Ensure all system switches are in the “Off” position.

3.2 Monitor and Static Switch Check

Power on DC and AC input and the monitor and static switch will start to function
and the bypass LED indicator on monitor or static switch will light up in few seconds.
Power will then be delivered to bypass output in system and the output voltage may be
checked with a multi-meter.
Enter the monitor menu to check menu function and check DC voltage, AC
voltage/frequency as indicated on monitor. Note that deviations of DC ±0.5Vdc and AC
±3Vdc are acceptable.
If all functions are correct then continue with the following check list.

3.3 Inverter Check

3.3.1 Single Inverter Check
Switch on all front panel inverter switches:
Power on the first inverter and the inverter will start the wait for 3 seconds (note
that if the inverter is restarted immediately after shut down, a 40 seconds delay will be
required prior to restart) and the Normal and Output Current LED indicator will alight
green. The inverter output voltage will be indicated on the monitor. The Inverter LED
on the monitor or static switch will alight indicating that the system is in the “on line”
mode and the load is being powered by the inverter.
Ensure that the system is functioning correctly and switch off the DC input switch
or switch off at the front panel of the first inverter and the system transfers to the AC
bypass masters line immediately.
Repeat the above steps and power on separate inverter individually and check the
function of each.
Switch off the DC switch and shut down all inverters.

3.3.2 Parallel Inverter Check

After the individual inverter check is completed power each inverter on
sequentially checking that the system continues to function normally after each
inverter is started before proceeding to the next. A low load may be applied to the
system in order to check current equalization.

3 / 13
CVT9K-120/208-RT Inverter Power System Quick Installation and Operation Instructions

If all functions are correct then shut down the second and power on the third.
Follow steps described above and check the first inverter and the third one in parallel.
Check all the other inverters in parallel with the first and if all functions are correct
the parallel inverter check is completed.

3.4 System Check with Load

Connect a load to system output.
Switch on all DC switches. When the system is functioning correctly, switch power
to inverter. Please see the manual 5.3 Parameter Setting for reference and switch on
load switch.
Check “operating mode” modification function for monitor.
 Check “off line test”
 Check output current
 Check transfer time (if available)
 After check is completed switch off and remove the load.

By now, we finish the system installation and operation. If you need more details
please see the user manual.

4. Maintenance Switch Instructions

The inverter system is equipped with maintenance or manual bypass switch.

The operation of maintenance switch should be done as per procedure and by
qualified personnel otherwise serious damage may be caused by improper operation.

4.1 Replacement CST40K-120/208 process

1. Write down load data and parameter setting on the controller, when
everything is functioning properly in system;
2. Change the work mode of the system from ONLINE to OFFLINE on the menu
of CVC01 controller, the system will transfer to bypass, The BYPASS on STS
light.
3. Turn transfer switch as shown in Figures 1 to “bypass maintenance” ;
4. The output current will indicate 0A on the controller and load is applied from
the bypass.
5. Power off all inverters;
6. Move the CST40K static switch carefully;
7. Complete the static switch upgrade or replacement.
8. CST40K will start to operate then fasten with screw.
9. Controller starts to indicate AC voltage/frequency, bypass light open after
several seconds;
10. Restart all inverter modules and wait for normal operation of every module;
11. Check all the parameters on CVC01 controller, Change the work mode of the
system from ONLINE to OFFLINE on the menu, it will transfer to bypass, The
4 / 13

BYPASS and MBS on STS light.

12. Turn transfer switch as shown in Figures 1 to “normal operation” from “bypass
maintenance”. The output current will be indicated on CVM18K and the
system is working in bypass mode.
13. Change the work mode of the system from OFFLINE to ONLINE on the menu
of CVC01, the system will transfer to inverter, The INVERTER on CVM18K light.,
STS will transfer to inverter after two seconds.
In this way, the static switch upgrading or replacement is completed without
cutting power to system.

4.2 The use of maintenance switch

Under the condition of system fault, please maintain and recover as follow steps:
1.When power is cut off by a system failure already, power off all inverters and
turn transfer switch as shown in Figures 1 to “bypass maintenance” from
“normal operation” immediately. The load recover to supply power;
2.Write down parameter setting on controller;
3.Follow steps from 4.1 then replace inverter, controller or static switch
according to inspection result.

4.3 The replacement of CVC01 controller

The CVC01 controller is a hot-swapped design and can be replaced when the
system is working:
1.Write down load data and parameter setting on CVC01 controller, when
everything is functioning properly in system;
2.Move the CVC01 Controller carefully;
3.Write down parameter setting on controller;
4.Replace a new CVC01 Controller.
5.The new CVC01 Controller will start to operate then fasten with screw.

stop bits before using the serial interface with Modbus RTS/ASCII protocol. Incorrect
settings will result in communication failures

According to the setting parameters of the inverter system as shown below,

 Set Baudrate to 19200,
 Set Control to None,
 Set Parity to None,
 Set FIFO to Enable,
 Set Stop bit to 1,
 Set Interface to RS232.

Protocol Settings
