4. Memorize the Introduction and Philosophy of History of the period of The Judges.

5. Be familiar with the 6 main judges mentioned in class and know their stories.

6. What is the summary of the Judges? How many times is it mentioned in Judges?

7. Who is considered the the final judge/ first prophet to the Israelites?

8. What were the key influences in Samuel’s life? (people and events)

the Southern nation?

15. Be familiar with the kings of Israel (Northern Kingdom) and some of the key events in
their reigns.

16. Who was Elijah? Who was the main Northern king during his ministry? What was his
biggest event?

17. Be familiar with the kings of Judah (Southern Kingdom) and some of the key events in
their reigns.

18. Know the key themes from 1-2 Kings as mentioned in the class discussion
19. How does the Hebrew Bible classify its prophetic books? How does the Protestant Old
Testament classify the prophets? Be able to give examples for each category of prophet

20. What were the Three Major Themes of Prophetic preaching?

21. What was the background on Isaiah? Parents? Hometown? How he died (supposedly)?

22. Know details of Jeremiah’s background and call to ministry. What was his ministry like?
Be familiar with his 5 confessions (do not need to memorize).

23. Know the background on Ezekiel. Hometown? Where was he when he ministered?

24. Be familiar with the key passages of Isaiah and Jeremiah and Ezekiel.

25. Concerning the 12 Minor Prophets, questions will be taken from the textbook as well as
class lecture/ discussion. Make certain that you have studied pages 149—195 (Chapters
14-19) of your textbook as well as the class discussions/presentations on the Minor
Prophets.
