a) Side Force versus Slip Angle
b) Cornering Stiffness of Normal Load
Vehicles load distribution on the axle’s changes by roads direction and curvature. For example if a car turns a left curve, the load on right tire increases since the load on left tire decreases due to inertial forces. We can easily understand from graph, relative between cornering stiffness and load is directly proportional. For example when we decrease load, cornering stiffness will decrease too so while car is going to curvature, the stiffness ratio of one tire decreases but others on same axle will increase. Therefore the cornering stiffness does not change linearly with respect to changing normal load.
