Dr Lucy Marten, Acting Director
of the Centre for East Anglian Studies
at the University of East Anglia, will
talk about Suffolk and the Little
Domesday Book.
Mark Mitchels, popular lecturer
and author of several books about
East Anglia, will describe the
development of the county from about
1500. He will deal with the end of
the wool trade, the arrival of
mechanised farming and the recent
growth of tourism.
Charlie Haylock, expert in local
dialects, will demonstrate aspects of
the Suffolk dialect and how it differs
from other counties.
Celia Hodson, Chief Executive of
Choose Suffolk, will look ahead to
what life may be like in the county
within the next fifty years.
