TEST REPORT OF

MODEL FM 66
(Separation in sedimentation)

EXP 1: INVESTIGATION OF FLOW CONDITIONS (TURBULENT FLOW)

A) Baffle position at 470mm, depth at 60 mm

 Flow rate : 1) Slurry water : 2 LPM

2) Fresh water: 5 LPM

 Eddy formation at 120mm (X axis)

B) Baffle position at 400mm, depth at 60 mm

 Flow rate : 1) Slurry water : 2 LPM

2) Fresh water: 5 LPM

 Eddy formation at 110mm (X axis)

C) Baffle position at 400mm, depth 115mm

 Flow rate : 1) Slurry water : 2 LPM

2) Fresh water: 5 LPM

 Eddy formation at 125 mm (X axis)

Conclusion: As baffle position changes (comes nearest to manifold

in X axis) eddy formation distance decreases.
EXP 2: INVESTIGATION OF FLOW CONDITIONS (LAMINAR FLOW)

A) Time: at 5min
 Length from left end: 180mm
 Length of laminar path line: 150mm
 Slurry flow rate: 100LPH
 Fresh water flow rate: 200LPH

B) Time: at 10min

 Length from left end: 180mm

 Length of laminar path line: 160mm
 Slurry flow rate: 100LPH
 Fresh water flow rate: 200LPH

Conclusion: At constant flow rate after time increasing the length

of laminar path line also increase.
