Getting Started
Before First Use
Prior to using your Dry Fryer, please read all safety and operating instructions thoroughly.
Please ensure you follow the steps below before using this appliance.
1. Remove all packaging materials and literature from inside the gift box.
2. Remove the twist-tie which is securing the electrical cord. Uncoil the cord and
straighten it to remove any kinks.
3. Wipe the exterior housing and inner surface of the Dry Fryer with a damp cloth and
then dry thoroughly. Do not immerse it in water or other liquids.
4. Wash the pot, mixing arm, grill rack and handles in warm soapy water and let it soak
for 30 minutes. Then rinse and dry thoroughly.
5. Attach the mixing arm handle to the mixing arm by pushing it firmly into the hole in the
mixing arm until it clicks (please refer to Fig. 1).
NOTE: Once assembled, do not try to remove the handle from the mixing arm
otherwise it may be damaged.
Fig. 1
NOTE: The Dry Fryer may emit a slight burning smell when it is first being used. Do not
be alarmed, this is normal and will cease with continued use.
Instructions
1. Press the lid release button, the lid will open automatically.
2. Fitting the rotating ring:
The rotating ring must be fitted the correct way up as shown in Fig. 2 below.
Two of the wheel axles are stamped with the word “UP”. This must face upwards when
the ring is correctly fitted. If the pot makes excessive noise or fails to rotate properly
during use, make sure that the rotating ring is fitted the right way up.
a) Place the rotating ring centrally into the bottom of your Dry Fryer.
b) Place the pot into the body of your Dry Fryer as shown in Fig. 3 below.
c) Fit the mixing arm onto the spindle in the pot as shown in Fig. 4 below.
NOTE: The mixing arm centre knob has an image of a padlock with an anticlockwise
arrow. The knob is already locked in place, unlocking and removing this is purely for
cleaning purposes and has no cooking functionality (refer to the cleaning section on
page 14 on how to remove). Do not remove mixing arm except for cleaning purposes.
3. Mix food with one spoonful of oil evenly (if required) in a separate bowl or container
and then pour into the pot.
4. Close the lid.
5. Plug the Dry Fryer into the power outlet, the digital timer will illuminate and display ‘00’.
6. Press the time setting key to set the desired time by referring to the cooking and
baking guide (found on page 12 and 13). Then press the ON/OFF switch to start. The
digital timer will illuminate orange and start to count down automatically. The halogen
heating element will also turn on.
NOTE: During cooking, the Dry Fryer halogen heating element will switch on and off
intermittently every few minutes (or even more regularly). This is a normal part of the
operation as the thermostat adjusts to the correct temperature to avoid over cooking.
NOTE: During cooking, you may open the lid at any time by pressing the lid release
button. Doing this will switch off the halogen element, fan and pot rotation, but the
timer will continue to count down. Closing the lid will restart cooking. If you have had
the lid open for some time, you may need to compensate with additional cooking time
after the original time has elapsed.
7. When cooking is completed, a beep will sound and the digital timer will once again
illuminate. To turn off the Dry Fryer manually, press and hold down the ON/OFF switch
for 5 seconds.
CAUTION: Always turn off the appliance at the power outlet after cooking and let it cool
down for a few minutes before opening the lid.
8. Press the lid release button to open the lid and take the mixing arm out of the pot.
Ensure that the mixing arm handle is attached to the end of the mixing arm. Never
take the mixing arm out without the handle, as it will be very hot.
9. Next, position the open mouth of the pot handle over the edge of the pot. Press the
lever found on the top of the pot handle, to the forward position. The clamp at the end
of the pot handle will then close and it will now be attached to the pot. The lever will
then return to its original position and the pot can be lifted out of the Dry Fryer. To
release the pot handle from the pot, simply press the round button found on top of the
pot handle.
10. This appliance can also bake or grill food with the use of the special grill rack that has
been provided. To cook food under 20mm thick, please use the side of the grilling rack
with the highest height to ensure that the food is further away from the bottom of the
pot. For food that is thicker than 20mm, please turn the rack over and use the lower
height.
CAUTION: Do not operate the Dry Fryer without food inside. Attempting to operate this
appliance without food in the pot will result in permanent damage to the internal safety
mechanism of this appliance, thus invalidating your warranty.
CAUTION: Do not touch any of the surfaces of the Dry Fryer, as they get very hot
during use. When opening the lid, please ensure there is space between you and the
appliance as hot air will escape from inside the appliance. This hot air is a scalding
hazard. Always move the appliance mixing arm and the non-stick pot by using the
handles provided.
