INT. COFFEE SHOP - DAY

A coffee shop. A long ugly brown hallway with shelves on one

side loaded with one-pound bags of ground beans, tables, the
bar parallel with exhausted baristas and a line of impatient,
entitled assholes waiting for caffeine to be injected into
their bloodstreams.

ALLIE (ALLYSSA WILLIAMS), a 26 year old African American

woman known for her liberal use of the word “fuck”, sits
curled up in the far corner near the bar slowly drinking her
tea. She don’s an oversized black hoodie despite the
sweltering summer heat, looking nervous.

Allie pulls out a small metal pill container on her keychain

and empties several small pills into her hand. She swallows,
washing them back with her tea.

She spies on all the other customers, eyes shooting left and
right.

The ambience of the busy shop becomes deafening.

She winces in discomfort as people pass her by.

The bell at the door rings. She looks up.

MATT (MATTHEW MCCARDLE), a white 24 year old tragic man-child

in raggedy black clothing stumbles into the coffee shop
looking high as all hell.

People turn their heads.

ALLIE
(whispering)
Jesus christ.

Matt steps up to the table, raising his hand at his waist for
a low, awkward wave.

He smiles and sits down.

MATT
Hi.

He tries to compose himself, adjusting his hair.

ALLIE
Whats up?

She smiles nervously, taking notice of his bloodshot eyes.

2.

MATT
Matt.

He shifts around uncomfortably in his chair.

MATT (CONT'D)
Hey you want something? I get an
employee discount so--

Allie raises her cup of tea.

MATT (CONT'D)
Ah.

Allie leans in.

ALLIE
Are you high?

MATT
No?

Milk steamers blow hot air in the background.

Allie glares at him.

MATT (CONT'D)
Hey if we’re gonna do the roommate
thing you’re gonna have to get used
to it.

Matt fidgets while Allie continues glaring.

MATT (CONT'D)
You want me to?

ALLIE
Yeah go ahead.

Matt nods.

MATT
I found this place down in Maywood.
Not bad. In the suburbs but close
enough to the highway. The--

ALLIE
Hold on.

MATT
What?
3.

ALLIE
Your ad said you already had a
place.

Silence.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
There were--like pictures and
everything.

Matt bites his lip.

MATT
Right, yeah sorry that was my old
place.

Matt taps his finger nervously.

MATT (CONT'D)
I needed something to put on the
site.

Allie holds her face in her hand.

ALLIE
Fucking craigslist.

She holds fierce eye contact with Matt.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
How much?

MATT
Eight-hundred.

ALLIE
A month?

Matt nods.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
How?

MATT
Well, look--it’s like, I think I
can get it down to eight-hundred.

ALLIE
How do you figure that?

Silence.

Matt looks down at the table, lightly chuckling.

4.

MATT
It’s--.

He scratches his head.

ALLIE
What?

MATT
Something happened there. The
landlord doesn’t want anyone to
know about.

Allie leans back in her chair, clutching her hands to the

edge of the table in an angry stare.

ALLIE
And?

Allie chuckles in frustration.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
Jesus fucking Christ I really gotta
stop meeting people on the
internet.

Matt starts laughing nervously. He points to her.

MATT
That’s a good one.

ALLIE
Shut up.

Matt quiets down.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
You gonna say something?

Matt fidgets.

MATT
The place was--the scene of a
murder. The landlord--

ALLIE
Fuck this.

Allie jumps to her feet and starts walking.

Matt rushes after her. He grabs her arm.

5.

EXT. PARKING LOT - DAY

Allie storms off.

Matt follows.

Cars race by along the highway behind the two of them in the
busy, packed-in parking lot.

MATT
Come on! Wait!

She turns to him furious, taking a few steps back.

ALLIE
Are you out of your mind!

Matt moves closer.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
Stay the fuck away from me.

Matt pauses, holding his hands up.

MATT
Okay.

He backs up.

MATT (CONT'D)
Okay.

Silence.

MATT (CONT'D)
You’re the only one who actually--
I’m alone in this.

ALLIE
Jesus christ! What the fuck is up
with you dude?

Matt groans.

MATT
This isn’t--

Allie cringes.

ALLIE
(yelling)
This isn’t what? What you’re gonna
blackmail some landlord?
6.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
The landlord we’d be sending our
rent to every month? How’s that
gonna work? Come on man what the
fuck is in your head?

Matt stands frozen.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
Are you gonna say something or are
you just gonna stand there like a
fucking idiot?

Matt stumbles back, interrupting her.

MATT
Stop! Okay!

Allie stares.

MATT (CONT'D)
It’s not! I mean--

He starts tearing up.

MATT (CONT'D)
(screaming)
Fuck!

Allie backs up, eyes wide.

Matt paces back and forth, muttering to himself, tugging at

his hair.

MATT (CONT'D)
Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.
(screaming)
Stupid!

He slaps himself. Hard. Then harder, and Harder, continuing

at lighting speed.

Allie rushes him grabbing his arm.

ALLIE
Stop.

Matt stumbles, his face red.

MATT
I’m living out of my car. Okay? I
got two jobs, no savings, I’m
drowning in debt and I’m fucking
living out of my car.
7.

He points to the coffee shop.

MATT (CONT'D)
(yelling)
I am fucked! This is my last--I
don’t have any more options. If
this doesn’t happen. I’m done.

His eyes pierce through Allie's.

Allie deflects, looking down at her feet.

The two stand in silence looking down at the pavement.

EXT. ALLIE’S HOUSE - DAY

Allie pulls into the driveway of the classic suburban New

Jersey house. Something is wrong. The grass in the backyard
is unkempt, swallowing up the grill, the small worn down
plastic play set, the chairs and table for cookouts. It seems
like nobody lives here.

INT. ALLIE’S HOUSE (KITCHEN) - DAY

The shades are pulled casting shadows all throughout the

house. Dirty dishes pile up in the sink and over the
counters. Fruit flies buzz everywhere.

Allie finds her mother passed out on the couch, snoring with
a glass of dark brown liquor and a bottle of pills next to
her hand.

Allie rolls her eyes.

She walks to her bedroom.

INT. ALLIE’S HOUSE (BEDROOM) - DAY

The bedroom is all purple, plastered with angsty band

posters. The bed fills up most of the room. What little floor
space left is made up of clothing and garbage.

Allie sits on her bed and sighs, placing her purse beside
her.

She checks her phone, staring at Matt’s contact info.

She curls up onto her bed and falls asleep.

The fruit flies continue to buzz.

8.

INT. ALLIE’S HOUSE (BEDROOM) - LATER THAT DAY

Allie wakes, startled by the sound of glass shattering in the

other room.

INT. ALLIE'S HOUSE (LIVING ROOM) - DAY

Allie stares at the floor, shattered glass and whiskey

everywhere.

Her mother lays drunk out of her mind on the couch next to
the mess. A small flatscreen plays Donald Trump on mute a few
feet away.

ALLIE’S MOM
(groggy)
Baby can you clean that up?

Allie looks down at her mother.

ALLIE
Sure.

She steps out.

INT. ALLIE'S HOUSE (KITCHEN) - DAY

Allie walks past a framed picture on the counter of a middle-

aged man who looks a lot like her. Get well soon cards and
flowers surround the picture.

INT. ALLIE'S HOUSE (LIVING ROOM) - DAY

Allie steps back in holding a broom and dustpan, kneeling

down to sweep up the glass.

ALLIE’S MOM
(groggy)
Take your pills?

Allie chuckles sarcastically.

She picks up the bottle of pills on the ground next to the

glass, reading the label.

ALLIE
That’s not your name. Shit you
drove out to Bellmawr to get these?

Allie’s Mom sighs.

9.

Allie shakes her head.

She puts the pills down.

ALLIE’S MOM
(groggy)
How’s your father doing?

Allie stops sweeping, glaring at her mother.

ALLIE
Why, you wanna visit him?

She continues sweeping

ALLIE (CONT'D)
(mumbling)
At least one of us is sober enough
to get to that fucking hospital.

ALLIE’S MOM
(groggy)
You wanna clean that shit up or
give me a lecture?

Allie's eyes fill with rage.

She stands up.

In one swift motion she kicks the dustpan over, spilling

glass all over the floor.

Allie glares at her mother.

EXT. ALLIE’S HOUSE - DAY

The clouds are pink in the distance as the sun begins to set.

Allie rushes out the back door.

She drops garbage bags full of her stuff in her trunk.

She gets in the car and drives off.

EXT. MOTEL - NIGHT

Allie walks up the steps to the doorway of the seedy motel,

carrying one of her trash bags full of clothing.

A sign above the entryway reads “Capri Inn. Little Ferry, New
Jersey”
10.

INT. MOTEL OFFICE - NIGHT

The front desk is one giant wall of glass with a tiny slot at
the bottom for exchanging keys and info.

Allie walks up to the CLERK aka the most monotone woman in

New Jersey.

ALLIE
I’d like a room for the night.

CLERK
Smoking or non-smoking?

Allie chuckles

ALLIE
Shit, you still have those?

The Clerk stares at her.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
Smoking.

INT. BATHROOM - NIGHT

Allie brushes her teeth.

The television blares in the background.

A low repetitive whirring noise rumbles through the walls.

Allie winces.

Her hand begins to tremble.

She spits.

ALLIE
(shaky)
Shit.

INT. MOTEL ROOM - NIGHT

Allie stares at a row of pill bottles lined up next to her

bed. The noises persist. She walks to the door.

INT. MOTEL HALLWAY - NIGHT

Allie slowly walks the halls.

11.

The whirring noise gets louder. Suddenly, there’s a horrible

growl from behind her. Allie’s shaking gets worse.

A Police Officer steps out of a hotel room behind her and

makes a call on his walkie. As she looks over her shoulder he
walks back into his room leaving Allie to find nothing there.
She finds a vending machine and orders a bag of chips.

CLICK. BEEP.

The chips fall to the bottom of the machine.

Allie grabs them.

The growl and the whirring become deafening, coming from all
sides. The sound of police cars wailing their sirens comes
from outside.

She rubs her ears slowly, closing her eyes.

A sudden, piercing inhuman howl devours the hallway from

behind her.

Her eyes shoot wide open.

She runs.

INT. MOTEL ROOM - NIGHT

The lights are on, the TV continues blaring. The whirring

noise continues.

Allie sits on her bed, eating chips, shaking. The bottles of

medication sit untouched on the side table. A quick pan of
the labels reveals Seroquel. Lithium. Lamictal. Gabapentin.

Allie finishes the chips and takes a pill out of each bottle.

She drops the five pills in her hand and swallows them with
water all at once.

The noises increase.

Allie covers her ears.

Her hands tremble against her head as she bobs back and
forth.

INT. MOTEL ROOM - LATER THAT NIGHT

The noises are gone.

12.

The lights are off. Only the moonlight and the quietly
flickering television illuminate her body.

Allie sits curled up on the bed against the wall, staring out
the window, smoking a cigarette.

She looks at her phone, staring at Matt's contact.

She sighs.

EXT. SIDE OF THE ROAD - NIGHT

A dead road. A rusty bridge. The sound of the river water

flowing beneath the rust and orange streetlights. A street
sign reads “Teaneck” with the New Jersey seal on top.

Matt's dented, sorry excuse for an SUV is filled with boxes

and blankets, parked off the edge of the road.

He stands on the side of the bridge, shaking, looking off at

the river with hopelessness in his face and a lit cigarette
in hand.

His phone vibrates.

His hands tremble as he swipes to answer.

We intercut between Matt and Allie in her motel room.

ALLIE
Hey.

MATT
(shaky)
Hey.

Silence.

ALLIE
Wanna talk?

Matt composes himself.

MATT
Yeah sure.

Silence.

MATT (CONT'D)
Hello?

ALLIE
Wanna meet?
13.

MATT
(shaky)
You sure?

ALLIE
Yeah.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
The top of Marvin ave, near the
high school. You know where that
is?

MATT
Yeah.

Silence.

ALLIE
Matt?

MATT
Yeah I’m on my way.

EXT. MARVIN AVE (NEAR THE HIGH SCHOOL) - NIGHT

Matt's car reaches a hill on Marvin Avenue and pulls over.

Single family houses line either side of the road, tethered
by draping telephone lines hanging off unstable wooden poles.
The hill overlooks Paterson, lit up like a decaying Las
Vegas.

INT. MATT’S CAR - NIGHT

Allie gets into the passenger’s seat, startling Matt.

MATT
(gasping)
Jesus!

ALLIE
Sorry.

MATT
Whats up?

Allie stares out at the highway in the distance. Matt turns

and stares with her The nighttime ambiance is serene.

MATT (CONT'D)
I used to go to school here.

Allie bites her lip.

14.

ALLIE
My dad and I would come here
sometimes when I was a kid.

MATT
Smoking weed with your dad?

ALLIE
What? No!

MATT
I’m just saying cuz, you know, this
is the spot.

Allie hisses laughter, shaking her head.

ALLIE
Nah. Just venting.

Allie leans over to him.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
Look. I’m sorry--for whatever’s
going on with you. I really am.

She sighs.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
But if we’re going to do this--

Matt looks up at her.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
I need to know everything. Don’t
fuck with me because I will find
out eventually. If we’re gonna do
this you gotta tell me what’s going
on.

He sits frozen.

Allie gives him an empathetic sigh.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
I’m not judging.
(pause)
But I need to know.

MATT
What changed your mind?

ALLIE
Does it matter?
15.

Matt looks down at his lap.

MATT
(stammering)
I don’t know whats wrong with me.
Something just changed--a few years
back.

ALLIE
Yeah.

MATT
At first it was just like--I
couldn’t get out of bed. Then it
just got--worse.

Allie stares at him while Matt lets out a soft smirk.

MATT (CONT'D)
(pause)
I’ll be out in public and suddenly
for no reason I just start--like I
can’t catch my breath.

ALLIE
Why were you slapping yourself?

MATT
If I had an answer I’d tell you.
(pause)
I don’t wanna talk about this.

ALLIE
(softly)
Okay. So--what’s the plan?

Matt snorts out a chuckle.

MATT
The plan.

He chuckles.

MATT (CONT'D)
I used to park my car near that
complex in Maywood I was telling
you about.

ALLIE
Maywood, New Jersey. White-some and
delightsome.
16.

INT. MATT’S CAR – MEMORY – NIGHT

Matt sits in the trunk of his car, snuggled up between his

belongings and a pile of blankets.

MATT (V.O.)
It was one of the few spots without
meters where the cops didn’t roll
by too often. I mean shit suburban
cops spend all their nights busting
teenagers for weed or slapping down
parking tickets.
(pause)
But that night...

Red and blue lights start flashing through the SUV windows.

Matt covers himself with his blanket, hyperventilating. He

peeks up after nothing happens.

Cops fill the front of a busted open apartment a few doors

down. Men in suits are yelling at the uniformed police,
flashing their badges.

Matt looks down at his phone.

MATT (V.O.)
Cops pulling up left and right--All
this shit--Then I see them pull out
a body. So I start taking pictures.

Medics wheel out a stretcher with a white body bag, blood

briefly visible from the inside as the officer’s mag lights
shine through.

MATT (V.O.)
I didn’t know why at the time. It
just seemed important.

Matt holds his phone close up to the window and starts

snapping pictures.

INT. MATT’S CAR - PRESENT

Matt pulls out his phone, handing it to Allie.

Allie scrolls through the pictures.

ALLIE
Wait. How the fuck did you get
these?

Matt smirks.
17.

MATT
Thats the crazy part.

INT. MATT’S CAR - MEMORY - NIGHT

A PATROL COP and a HOMICIDE DETECTIVE walk up to Matt's car.

Matt ducks under his blankets.

MATT (V.O.)
So the homicide folk start scoping,
or canvasing or whatever you call
it. And they actually walk up to my
car. So naturally I duck the fuck
out of sight.

The officers tap the car.

Tap. Tap. Tap.

Matt winces with each tap, holding his breath.

The Patrols Cop shines his light into the vehicle.

He stares at the pile of blankets.

The Homicide Detective calls him off.

INT. MATT’S CAR - PRESENT

MATT
They don’t see me! They leave and
they don’t fucking see me!

Matt looks at Allie with crazy eyes.

Allie smirks.

INT. MATT’S CAR – MEMORY

Matt stares as the scene fizzles out.

The cops get in their cars.

The ambulance heads out with the body.

The door to the apartment is shut.

Matt breaths a sigh of relief.

He looks at his phone, shuffling through the photos.

18.

MATT (V.O.)
Anyway, I wait it out until it
looks like they’re not coming back.
And I’m just shaking--

INT. MATT’S CAR - PRESENT

Matt pauses, hands shaking.

Allie raises an eyebrow.

ALLIE
So...

He nods, smiling with that crazy look still intact.

INT. MURDER APARTMENT - MEMORY

MATT (V.O.)
So I break into the apartment.
Which was easy because the door was
practically open, hanging on its
hinges and shit.

Matt opens the door, which completely falls off its hinges.

BANG.

He walks in.

He stares at the bloody wall, sickened by the sight as he

covers his mouth. Gathering his courage, he snaps as many
pictures as he can, his face growing more and more horrified.

MATT (V.O.)
I take as many pictures as
possible. There’s blood. Lots of
blood.

He takes one more photo, wincing at the horrific sight before

him.

MATT (V.O.)
I nearly puke.

He gags and runs out.

MATT (V.O.)
And I dip.
19.

EXT. MURDER APARTMENT - MEMORY

Matt runs to his car as fast as he can.

INT. MATT’S CAR - MOVING - MEMORY

Matt drives off with a face of pure horror.

INT. MATT’S CAR - PRESENT

Matt exhales deeply

MATT
My heart’s pounding just thinking
about it.

Matt giggles.

ALLIE
You alright?

He breaths heavy.

MATT
Yeah man. I’m fine.

He smiles.

ALLIE
Damn.

MATT
I know. The shitty part was I had
to drive around for the rest of the
night for a place to sleep. Then
again who the hell could sleep
after something like that?

He laughs.

Allie chuckles.

ALLIE
These are good. I mean they’re
bloody and fucked up but I mean--
nice.

Matt chuckles.

MATT
I know how to frame a shot! I’m a
filmmaker--or--I make videos.
20.

Allie smirks, handing the phone back.

MATT (CONT'D)
Went to film school and everything.
Not that it counts for anything
considering the debt I’m in now.

Silence.

Matt looks down at his phone.

MATT (CONT'D)
Corner the landlord and knock down
the rent. That’s the plan. He could
get in a lot of trouble for not
disclosing this sort of thing.

ALLIE
What if it doesn’t work?

MATT
There’s literally no reason why it
wouldn’t.

Allie rubs her forehead in frustration.

ALLIE
Okay but what if?

MATT
Then we’ll figure something out.

ALLIE
Figure something out. Great. What
the fuck is wrong with you?

Matt laughs.

MATT
The fuck isn’t?

Allie looks at him frustrated.

ALLIE
Fine tell me.

Matt groans.

MATT
Why?

ALLIE
Because I need to know.
21.

Silence.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
Why are you--living here?

MATT
Stupid shit.

Matt fidgets.

He winces.

MATT (CONT'D)
I--uh--girlfriend kicked me out
after--It’s been months.
(pause)
She threw--

Allie looks down at Matt's hands as they start to shake

again.

MATT (CONT'D)
(shaky)
I pissed her off bad. I grabbed
what I could--but--most of my shit
is still there. My clothes, my bong-
-

Matt chuckles sarcastically.

MATT (CONT'D)
All my fucking cameras.

Allie stares at him like a concerned mother.

Matt lets out a sad attempt at a smile.

MATT (CONT'D)
You go crazy and everyone in the
room starts to catch it. Like a
virus.

He chuckles.

MATT (CONT'D)
Those cameras were my livelihood.
But there’s nothing I can do about
it, you know?

ALLIE
Why?

They both sit staring down at their laps in a awkward

silence, Matt’s face visibly frightened.
22.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
(softly)
You seeing a psychiatrist? Someone
to talk to?

MATT
No.

Matt shakes his head.

MATT (CONT'D)
I don’t have insurance so fuck it,
right?

ALLIE
How the hell do you not have
insurance?

Matt shrugs.

MATT
I got car insurance. Figured that
was the priority.

ALLIE
What about the fine?

MATT
Fuck the fine. I’m not paying that
shit.

Allie chuckles.

Matt laughs.

He pulls out a pack of cigarettes motioning towards Allie.

She grabs one.

ALLIE
Thanks.

MATT
So what about you mystery girl?

ALLIE
What?

MATT
What’s you’re shit?

ALLIE
Nothing to tell.
23.

MATT
Nothing?

ALLIE
I’m a mystery girl.

Allie smirks.

Matt laughs.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
Just don’t bullshit me anymore.
Because I won’t hesitate to back
out if this, okay?

Matt nods.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
Right now, I’m the girl who’s gonna
save your ass.

Silence.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
I’m in a motel in Little Ferry.
Lets get some sleep. Tomorrow we
meet our landlord.

INT. MURDER APARTMENT - DAY

The apartment is fully repainted – not a trace of the grizzly

murder remains. Potential renters move throughout the unit
talking amongst themselves.

Allie and Matt walk in and immediately stare at the walls.

ALLIE
No blood. They cleaned this place
up nice.

Allie smirks, running her fingers over the sea foam green
paint.

MATT
Which one’s the landlord?

Allie motions to a man speaking to a young couple. The

LANDLORD, a late-middle aged African American man dressed in
his Sunday’s best, takes notice of the two.

LANDLORD
How you guys doing today?
24.

Allie and Matt smile, shaking his hand one after another.

The Landlord puts on his best charming smile, so fake it

hurts.

LANDLORD (CONT'D)
You guys a couple?

Matt and Allie turn to each-other awkwardly.

ALLIE MATT
Nahh. Nahh.

The Landlord nods, eyeballing the two.

LANDLORD
Well as you can see this place is
in high demand. Two bedrooms, one
bathroom, lots of floorspace. Did
you see the walk-in closet over
there?

The Landlord points over to the open door near the entrance.
He smiles.

LANDLORD (CONT'D)
We have a few units similar to this
but you can’t beat ground floor.

MATT
How much you looking for?

LANDLORD
Fifteen-hundred a month. For a
place like this, close to a dozen
strip malls, you can’t get much
better.

Silence.

Allie runs her finger down the freshly painted wall.

ALLIE
I don’t know. Seems a bit high.

She stares at her finger tip.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
Considering one of your tenants was
murdered here only a month ago.

Matt’s eyes widen.

The other potential renters grow silent.

25.

The Landlord's face drops into a deep glare.

INT. LANDLORD’S OFFICE - DAY

The office is dimly lit, with dark brown wood walls and an
old metal desk.

Allie and Matt sit across from the Landlord.

LANDLORD
What do you know?

ALLIE
Show him.

Matt hands The Landlord his phone. His face drops.

LANDLORD
How the hell--

ALLIE
Yeah that’s right.

The Landlord stares at the phone. In one swift motion he

grabs his stapler and smashes Matt’s phone to bits.

MATT
(shaky)
That was--

ALLIE
Unnecessary.

The Landlord slides the phone back to MATT. He stares at his

broken phone, horrified.

MATT
You owe me a new phone asshole.

LANDLORD
(yelling)
I don’t owe you nothing!

MATT
You realize there’s this thing
called the cloud, right? All that
shit’s backed up.

The Landlord lays back in defeat.

Allie leans forward with a look of pure menace.

26.

ALLIE
Let’s talk.

LANDLORD
What do you want?

ALLIE
$550 a month.

LANDLORD
You gotta be out of your mind!

Allie grins.

LANDLORD (CONT'D)
That’s a third of the price!

ALLIE
Yeah. It is. But it’s better than
what’ll happen otherwise.

The Landlord crosses his arms.

LANDLORD
Oh yeah? What’s that?

ALLIE
You know.

Silence.

LANDLORD
Get the hell out of my office!

Allie slams her hands on the desk, leaning in close to his

face.

ALLIE
(Yelling)
You’re fucking with crazy you know
that?

The Landlord sits back in his chair, arms crossed with a smug
grin.

INT. MATT’S CAR – DAY

Allie and Matt sit parked on the street outside the Murder
Apartment complex.

MATT
Shit.
27.

ALLIE
Shit.

MATT
I didn’t expect--

ALLIE
(Angry)
Yeah. I know you didn’t. That’s why
I was hoping you had some sort of
backup plan you idiot.

MATT
Please. Stop calling me that.

Allie nods.

MATT (CONT'D)
What’d you mean by “You’re fucking
with crazy”?

ALLIE
Nothing.

MATT
So what do we do now?

Silence. Allie starts laughing. Matt raises an eyebrow.

INT. MOTEL OFFICE - DAY

The Clerk stares at Matt and Allie.

CLERK
Smoking or non-smoking?

Matt and Allie look at each other.

MATT ALLIE
Smoking! Smoking!

INT. MOTEL ROOM - DAY

Allie sits on the bed with the computer open in front of her.
Matt paces around the room, rambling.

MATT
What the hell happened in there? I
mean does he realize what kind of
trouble he’s got himself in!
28.

ALLIE
Uh huh.

MATT
And did you see the smug look on
his face? I hate that shit.

ALLIE
Mmhm.

MATT
(rapid fire)
And my phone. Jesus christ my
fucking phone.

Allie shrugs, ignoring him. Matt trails off into inaudible

nonsense while Allie works.

Allie looks over and notices one of her pill bottles fell out
of her bag beside the bed.

She looks over at Matt who’s staring out the window.

She leans over and knocks the bottle back into the bag,
placing a shirt over it.

MATT (O.S.) (CONT'D)

Are you even listening?

ALLIE
What?

MATT
Un-fucking-believable!

Matt raises his hands up in frustration.

ALLIE
Sorry. I’m trying to focus.

She types rapidly.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
What’s your password?

INT. MOTEL ROOM - MOMENTS LATER

Allie and Matt stare at the computer screen.

MATT
Whoah.

Allie grins.
29.

ALLIE
Whoah.

Graphic images of the murder are displayed on fake real

estate ads all over Allie's computer.

Silence.

MATT
So what do we do now?

ALLIE
We save drafts--and print copies.

Matt turns to Allie.

MATT
How do people print things now?

Allie stares back.

ALLIE
Shit.

INT. MOTEL OFFICE - DAY

The lobby is empty. Allie walks up to the front desk with an

obviously fake smile, Matt following.

The Clerk looks up, half asleep.

ALLIE
Excuse me, do you have a printer we
could use?

The Clerk glares at them from behind the glass wall.

CLERK
No.

INT. MATT’S CAR - DAY

Allie and Matt slam the car doors shut, parked outside the
Motel.

Allie stares out the front window. Matt leans forward with a
concerned look on his face.

MATT
You okay?
30.

ALLIE
Yeah it's just--what the fuck are
we gonna do now?

Allie sighs.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
It’s not like we can bring my
computer to that creep’s place.
He’d probably take a magnet to the
damn thing.

MATT
I don’t think he’s that smart.

ALLIE
Don’t underestimate people. If we’d
have had another plan, or something
other than just going in blind we
wouldn’t be here right now.

Matt scratches his head.

MATT
I know. But we’re here now so what
do we do?

ALLIE
We can’t use a print shop. If they
got a peek at what we were printing-
-well you know.

MATT
Yeah.

ALLIE
So.

MATT
So.

Allie groans.

ALLIE
(yelling)
Oh fuck me!

EXT. OFFICE BUILDING – NIGHT

Matt sits in the car watching Allie as she walks to the

entrance wide, brown corporate office building. Her
workplace.
31.

INT. ELEVATOR – NIGHT

Allie stands breathing heavy as the elevator slowly rises,

making low rumbling noises similar to her hallucinations.
She looks down at her shirt and notices a stain of cigarette
ash. She tries rubbing it out dry. She spits on her fingers
and presses harder. The stain goes away but now her shirt is
noticeably wet.

ALLIE
(Whisper)
Goddammit.

INT. OFFICE - NIGHT

The elevator doors open to a bland, corporate office filled

with human drones.

Allie exhales.

She walks through the office slouching, trying not to be

noticed. One of her COWORKERS walks by smiling.

COWORKER 1
Hey you!

Allie nods.

Another COWORKER walks past.

COWORKER 2
What’s up girl?

She fakes a smile.

TASHA (O.S.)
Hey stranger.

Allie flinches, startled.

ENTER TASHA, 30, African American, sweet and smiley. She

stands in front of Allie holding a stack of papers.

TASHA (CONT'D)
How’s my girl doing? It's been
lonely here without you.

They hug.

ALLIE
You know.
32.

TASHA
I thought you weren’t coming back
to work for at least another couple
of days?

ALLIE
I just needed to--

Allie scratches her head awkwardly.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
--use the printer.

TASHA
(chuckling)
Okay?

Allie shakes her head with a smirk on her face.

ALLIE
(chuckling)
I don’t wanna talk about it.

TASHA
Well we miss you girl. Summer’s
here, everyone’s making
reservations at all the hotels down
the shore.

Allie nods, smiling.

ALLIE
And all their fucking credit cards
are declining, yeah?

TASHA
You seem to be the only bitch
around here who knows how to say no
to a client.

Allie shrugs with pride.

TASHA (CONT'D)
You still owe me dinner too.

Tasha glares, smirking at Allie.

TASHA (CONT'D)
Maybe you bring me by this new
place of your’s and you and your
roommate can pamper me.

Allie lets out a brief but audible laugh.

33.

TASHA (CONT'D)
What’d I say?

EXT. OFFICE BUILDING – NIGHT

Matt paces around the parking lot doing the pee dance.

He stands against the wall, unzipping his pants.

A car rolls up.

MATT
Shit.

He zips back up.

INT. ELEVATOR – NIGHT

Matt hops up and down, shaking the elevator.

MATT
Come on. Come on. Come on.

INT. OFFICE – NIGHT

TASHA
So who is this new roommate anyway?

The elevator bell rings.

MATT (O.S.)
Excuse me can I use your bathroom?

COWORKER 1 (O.S.)
(muttering)
Who is that?

COWORKER 2 (O.S.)
(muttering)
I don’t know.

Allie looks behind Tasha, mortified, watching a train-wreck

in slow-motion.

ALLIE
Excuse me.

She walks swiftly up to Matt, a huge, fake grin on her face.

34.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
(cheerful)
Hey you!

She forcefully grabs him by the arm and walks him back
towards her desk.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
(whisper)
What the fuck?

MATT
(whisper)
I had to pee!

ALLIE
(whisper)
You have a dick! You could have
peed outside.

MATT
(whisper)
Don’t tell me what to do with my
dick!

They stumble into Tasha, swiftly smiling as hard as they can.

MATT (CONT'D) ALLIE

(cheerful) (cheerful)
Hey! Hey!

ALLIE (CONT'D)
This--is my roommate.

MATT
Matt.

He holds out his hand, still bouncing from his soon to be

UTI.

Tasha smiles, charmed by his politeness, delicately shaking

his hand.

ALLIE
Could you show him the bathroom?

Tasha cheerfully walks Matt out.

TASHA (O.S.)
So tell me a little about yourself,
Matt.

Allie's eyes widen, following them as they walk around the

corner.
35.

She shakes it off and pops a USB key into her computer.

The load time couldn’t be slower as she glares at the

computer screen.

ALLIE
(whisper)
Goddamn shitty fucking work
computer. Fucking fuck fuck fuck
fuck fuck.

INT. OFFICE - MOMENTS LATER

Allie glances nervously around the office as she walks over

to the printer. The ads slowly push their way out. Allie
waits, her anxiety growing stronger by the moment.
Out of nowhere, Coworker 1 gets to the printer and takes a
look at one of the ads.

COWORKER 1
What’s this?

Allie freezes.

Matt pops up from behind them.

MATT
Hi I’m Matt.

He shakes Coworker 1’S hand.

Silence.

Matt looks down at the ad in Coworker 1’s hand as he slowly

flips it over.

Without a second to think Matt grabs it and runs away.

Allie stands frozen, watching him race to the elevator while

the entire office stares.

Coworker 1 turns to Allie.

COWORKER 1
What just happened?

The printer finishes.

Allie looks down at the pile of ads, then back up at Coworker

1.

She swiftly grabs the rest of the ads and bolts to the
elevator.
36.

Coworker 1 stands in silence alongside the rest of the office

who are now looking at the closed elevator doors.

Tasha walks out of the bathroom.

TASHA
What’d I miss?

INT. MATT’S CAR - MOVING - NIGHT

Allie and Matt sit wide-eyed, driving along the highway.

ALLIE
Holy shit.

MATT
Yeah--that--yeah.

ALLIE
Why?

MATT
Because.

He looks at her.

MATT (CONT'D)
I froze up!

ALLIE
You ran through my office like a
crazy person.

Matt shrugs.

MATT
I am a crazy person.

Allie groans.

ALLIE
Oh god and I got to go back to work
in a few days. What am I gonna say?

Matt chuckles.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
Oh you think this is funny?

MATT
A little.

Allie’s rage spikes through her body as she visibly trembles.

37.

She screams.

Matt pushes the brakes. Tires screech. The car stops short.

Allie breaths heavy. Matt stares at her.

She calms down shaking her head.

ALLIE
Just go.

They drive off.

INT. LANDLORD'S OFFICE - DAY

Allie slams the ads on The Landlord's desk.

ALLIE
You wanna stop fucking around?

She huffs and puffs with a crazed look in her eyes.

Matt stands off to the side, eyes wide.

The Landlord, unamused, calmly pulls his glasses out of his

desk drawer.

He reads the papers.

LANDLORD
(monotone)
“We are catering to potential low
income tenants in the Bergen county
area who are willing to look past
the fact that this was the scene of
a murder. People who do not believe
in, nor care about ghosts because
y’all have better things to worry
about than all that stupid shit.”
(pause)
You got a real bad potty mouth
girl.

ALLIE
Don’t call me girl.

He puts the papers down, looking up at them dumbfounded.

LANDLORD
You do know this is blackmail,
right?
38.

ALLIE
Blackmail my dick. Fraud. Let’s
talk about fraud. Not disclosing a
murder took place in one of your
apartments. Shit, You fucked
yourself pulling a stunt like that.

The Landlord looks at her, dead-eyed.

He starts to laugh.

LANDLORD
I did a little research.

Allie and Matt look at each-other confused.

LANDLORD (CONT'D)
Oh yeah. I know how to use google.
Turns out there are no laws
preventing me from leaving out any
info regarding crimes committed in
my apartments. It may be frowned
upon...

The Landlord shrugs.

LANDLORD (CONT'D)
But so be it.

ALLIE
Bullshit!

The Landlord nods sarcastically.

Allie glares at him.

LANDLORD
Don’t give me that look.

The Landlord gives a pouty face.

LANDLORD (CONT'D)
Now get the hell out of my office.

EXT. MURDER APARTMENT COMPLEX - DAY

Allie furiously paces in front of The Landlords door,

muttering profanities to herself.

Matt stares at her, holding the pile of fliers.

39.

ALLIE
That motherfucker. That piece of
shit. The cocky fucking little bald-
headed cocksucker.

Matt laughs.

MATT
You really do have a potty mouth
don’t you?

Allie sighs.

ALLIE
Yeah well you aren’t much better.

She holds out her hand to Matt.

MATT
What?

ALLIE
You know what.

He scrambles in his pockets, handing her a cigarette.

Allie fumbles to give it a light.

They walk through the complex.

MATT
I didn’t know.

ALLIE
Dumbass! How the fuck didn’t you
know?

Matt pauses, ducking his head and shaking.

MATT
(under his breath)
Stop.

ALLIE
Stop what!

Matt turns to her breathing fast.

MATT
Please. Stop.

Allie stands back. Her cigarette slowly burning in her hand.

40.

ALLIE
Sorry.

Allie rubs the back of her head.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
Shit, I’m sorry.

Matt pulls his hair back, nodding.

They continue walking.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
You okay?

Matt laughs under his breath.

Allie nods.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
Yeah.

She nods.

Matt bows his head embarrassed.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
I’ve been kind of an asshole.

He nods nervously.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
What can I do to help?

MATT
Just don’t scream at me okay?

ALLIE
Got it.

Matt smiles at Allie. He looks down at the ads.

MATT
We got these.

Matt holds up the ads.

MATT (CONT'D)
There’s got to be something we can
do.

Silence.

Allie starts laughing.

41.

MATT (CONT'D)
Jesus you got that evil laugh down
to a science.

Allie stops, glaring at Matt.

MATT (CONT'D)
Just saying.

EXT. ESSEX STREET - DAY

Allie and Matt begin stapling the ads on telephone poles all
across the busy road as people walk by to do their shopping.

One pole.

And another.

And another.

And another.

One pole has 3 ads stacked above one another.

The entire block on both ends is littered with the flyers,

some of which fall off, gently blowing into the street.

INT. LANDLORD'S OFFICE - DAY

The Landlord sits reading the newspaper when a knock on the

door catches his attention.

He looks through the peephole to see the dynamic duo.

They knock again.

ALLIE
You want me to blow the whole
fucking house down?

The Landlord grunts.

He opens the door, Allie and Matt stride through.

They all sit down.

LANDLORD
What do you want?

Allie places one final ad down on the desk.

42.

LANDLORD (CONT'D)
And?

ALLIE
The rest of them are on Essex
street.

The Landlord’s face drops.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
You know, one of the busier
shopping districts in this area.

The Landlord takes another look at the ad.

LANDLORD
You didn’t.

ALLIE
All of them.

Allie leans back.

The Landlord stares at her with a look of terror.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
Don’t give me that look.

She smirks.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
Now we can take them down. One day?
That won’t do much damage to your
building. After that?

She shrugs again.

LANDLORD
(horrified)
Do you kids even realize what
you’ve done?

ALLIE
We did what we had to!

Allie leans in.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
We talk rent now. Right now!

Allie points to the ad.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
Or you’re done.
43.

The Landlords reads the ads once more.

LANDLORD
(under his breath)
Goddammit.

He sighs, leaning back in his chair.

LANDLORD (CONT'D)
Remind me?

ALLIE
Five-hundred.

LANDLORD
No way. Not possible.

ALLIE
Gimme a number.

LANDLORD
How about thirteen-hundred? That
good for you?

ALLIE
Six-fifty asshole.

The Landlord scoffs.

LANDLORD
Do I need to get a swear jar in
here? Eleven-hundred dollars.

Allie scoffs.

ALLIE
Deal with it. Seven-hundred.

The Landlord sighs.

LANDLORD
Jesus Christ, fine. Nine-fifty.
Final offer.

Silence.

Allie and Matt look at each other.

Allie looks back at The Landlord.

ALLIE
Eight-hundred--Because I make the
final offer bitch.
44.

They stare at each other.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
Like I said, don’t fuck with crazy.

The Landlord sighs.

They shake hands.

Matt looks like he’s about to faint.

LANDLORD
I just need you two idiots to sign
some forms. I’m assuming the loud
one is going on the lease.

Matt nods.

INT. MATT'S CAR - DAY

The car sits on the street outside the grassy, suburban

Murder Apartment complex.

Matt and Allie sit excitedly wide-eyed.

MATT
I can’t even--you actually--how did
you?

They turn to each-other, ecstatically smiling.

They high five.

MATT (CONT'D) ALLIE

(shouting) (shouting)
Ow! Ow!

MATT (CONT'D)
You’re scary you know that?

Allie frowns.

MATT (CONT'D)
No--like--in a good way. You were a
fucking rockstar in there.

Allie smiles.

MATT (CONT'D)
When are we gonna take down the
ads?
45.

ALLIE
Let him squirm till tomorrow. Make
sure we’re moved in first.

Matt chuckles.

MATT
Sorry I freaked out on you.

ALLIE
No you were right.

They both sit in a rare moment of tranquility, exchanging a

brief smile.

MATT
Furniture. I set aside some money
for the first and last months rent,
pretty much the only money I have
that not already spoken for,
assuming it was going to be my
price, which you--
(yelling)
Fucking got us!
(normal)
But I don’t think we’ll be paying
that now so maybe we can put that
money towards some appliances,
maybe a good futon or something.

ALLIE
Nah.

MATT
Nah?

ALLIE
I got that covered.

EXT. STORAGE FACILITY - DAY

Allie and Matt stand staring at the gate of a large, grey

storage locker. The rest of the outdoor, gated facility is
dead, say for a security guard or two.

Allie turns to Matt.

ALLIE
It’s been almost a year. Hope
you’re not afraid of spiders.

Matt frowns.
46.

Allie opens the locker. It is filled to the brim with an

entire apartment’s worth of furniture and appliances.

Matt’s mouth is agape.

MATT
Where the hell did all this come
from?

ALLIE
I used to live with a girl. Then I
didn’t. Thats all you need to know.

MATT
Like a girlfriend?

She glares at him.

ALLIE
Yeah. So?

MATT
Oh don’t worry. I’m with it.

She continues to glare at him.

He smirks.

MATT (CONT'D)
I’m fucking with you.

She raises an eyebrow.

MATT (CONT'D)
Seriously that pussy is your’s for
the taking. Reach for the stars
girl.

Allie’s face slowly morphs into a into a smile.

ALLIE
(chuckling)
Okay now I’m starting to like you.

Matt shakes his head.

EXT. STORAGE FACILITY - LATER

Allie and Matt stand by the fully packed U-Haul.

Allie gets a call from The Landlord

47.

ALLIE
Hello? Okay. Yeah. Bye.

Allie hangs up.

She looks over at Matt.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
Our keys are ready. Time to go.

The hop in the car and drive off, U-Haul bouncing behind
them.

INT. LANDLORD'S OFFICE - DAY

The Landlord hands Allie the keys.

LANDLORD
I don’t fuck with crazy.

He smiles.

She doesn’t.

LANDLORD (CONT'D)
I respect your commitment. Your
little scheme really threw me off
guard.

ALLIE
Thanks.

She walks to the door.

LANDLORD
I got your background checks.

She stops dead in her tracks.

She turns to him.

LANDLORD (CONT'D)
Him? He’s all over the place. I
don’t even know where to start.

She smirks, staring at the ground.

ALLIE
Yeah I figured as much.

The Landlord looks at her.

48.

LANDLORD
But you.

He wags his finger at her. She looks up at him.

LANDLORD (CONT'D)
You got fucked, as you would say.

Allie stands nervous.

LANDLORD (CONT'D)
HIPPA laws are supposed to protect
hospital records, unless, say it
was related to something criminal.
I’m not supposed to be able to see
it, even in a background check.

He wags his finger.

LANDLORD (CONT'D)
But somehow you fell through the
cracks.

He looks her in the eye.

LANDLORD (CONT'D)
You went to SUNNY DAYS.

Her eyes widen.

His face grows solemn.

LANDLORD (CONT'D)
I won’t tell.
(pause)
My sister went there.

Allie looks up at him, bewildered.

LANDLORD (CONT'D)
Sit. I wont bite.

Allie sits.

ALLIE
We--

LANDLORD
Just shut up for one goddamn
second, will you?
(pause)
It's always the bad stuff that
feels close by. Good stuff goes by
like it never happened.
49.

Allie mumbles.

LANDLORD (CONT'D)
What?

She sighs, chuckling.

ALLIE
Why does crazy always follow me
wherever I go?

LANDLORD
Crazy tends to do that.

Silence.

LANDLORD (CONT'D)
She had problems.

He holds out his arm and traces circles.

LANDLORD (CONT'D)
She used to--burn herself with
cigarettes. Her arms and legs
looked like leopard skin. I didn’t
know what to do. My folks? They
were too old to know and--well you
probably know. Maybe not.

He looks Allie in the eye.

LANDLORD (CONT'D)
I caught her once. That look she
gave me. Like she was begging. I
smelled smoke and walked in. That’s
the only reason I found her.
(pause)
I’ll never get that face out of my
head.

He inhales deeply.

LANDLORD (CONT'D)
Anyway, she went there and at least
for a little while things were
better.
(pause)
I miss her.

Silence.

ALLIE
I’m sorry--for coming at you like
we did, we just--I don’t know.
50.

LANDLORD
I don’t get it. You’re not that
poor--shit if what you put down
here is true, you’re doing alright.

Allie folds her hands together.

ALLIE
But he’s not.

The Landlord looks perplexed.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
Look I’m not gonna be a mom. I’m
not going to pay some guy’s rent
and coddle him like a child. But I
don’t--I don’t have many other
options myself.

LANDLORD
He’s a bad bet. You see that right?
If it were him alone he’d be turned
away two minutes into meeting the
kid. Why jump into something you
know is a bad move?

Allie shivers.

ALLIE
Honestly? I don’t feel safe--by
myself. And with him, I see this
kid and he’s sick and he’s living
on the street--and he’s begging me
for help. I can’t just ignore that.
I know what happens when you mix
all that stuff together and it
never ends well.

LANDLORD
Why’d you go there?

Allie lets out a long shaky sigh, trying to smile.

She looks down at her hands, shaking.

ALLIE
I was sixteen. It was a bad time.
Bad for a long time. And some shit
went down.
(pause)
I got problems too. It’s no one’s
business. Not yours. Not his. Not
anybody’s.
51.

LANDLORD
I didn’t mean to--

Allie shakes her head.

ALLIE
No I know. The scary part is not
knowing what’s real--but the
scarier part is not knowing if the
feelings--like is this the one that
makes me snap?

LANDLORD
The feelings?

ALLIE
Like I said, I got problems.

The Landlord nods.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
I get my shit done, you know?
Nobody’s gotta worry about me
because the other way, I don’t ever
want to go back to that place.

LANDLORD
I don’t really know what to say.

Allie chuckles.

ALLIE
I appreciate that. Seriously.
People are filled with so much
bullshit. They want to fix you when
they hear shit like this and when
they can’t they turn on you like
it’s--like it’s your fault. Like I
did something to deserve this.

She leans back, shrugging.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
There’s nothing to fix. It just is.
(pause)
I’m sorry about you’re sister.

The Landlord winces.

The door suddenly opens and Matt enters loud as can be.

MATT
Hey. Are you done yet? I have to
pee like a motherf--
52.

He sees Allie and The Landlord, heads down, red faces and
tears in their eyes.

MATT (CONT'D)
I’m sorry, should I?

He points to the door.

ALLIE
(sniffling)
No it’s ok. Here. I’ll be done in a
minute.

She hands him the keys. He backs up slowly, closing the door.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
Thank you. I didn’t want us to be
on bad terms. You’re our landlord
now.

THE Landlord holds out his hand.

LANDLORD
Vince. Name’s Vince.

Allie smiles.

ALLIE
Allie.

They shake hands.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
I mean you already know that.

VINCE
Look if things get rough or you
just need to talk, I’m mostly here.

She stands up, letting out a light chuckle.

ALLIE
I’m the loud one?

He smiles, peaking over his glasses.

VINCE
Yeah. You are.

Allie walks out the door shaking her head, smiling.

53.

EXT. MURDER APARTMENT - DAY

Matt, done peeing, sits on the apartment stoop waiting for

Allie.

He stands as she walks up to him.

MATT
What are you smiling?
(pause)
You okay?

ALLIE
Yeah.

She gently touches his shoulder and smiles.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
You have--the smallest bladder of
any boy I’ve ever met.

Matt laughs.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
So we got three days on the U-Haul.
So let’s get the important stuff in
before sundown. Then I’ll order us
some food.

He smiles.

MATT
Food.

Allie walks to the apartment door.

MATT (CONT'D)
Hey Allie.

She turns, hand on the doorknob.

Matt smiles.

MATT (CONT'D)
I’m starting to like you too.

She smiles.

INT. MURDER APARTMENT - NIGHT

The apartment is partially furnished. Open boxes line the

walls.
54.

Matt sits cross legged against the back wall of the walk-in
closet.

Allie comes in and sits next to him. Matt pulls out a

cigarette and offers her one.

ALLIE
No smoking inside.

Matt nods and puts the cigarette back in the pack.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
Thats a rule.

Matt nods.

MATT
You ever see the future?

Allie’s eyes widen.

MATT (CONT'D)
Not like that! Like do you ever see
yourself ten years from now?

ALLIE
I try not to think about it.

MATT
I try. But all I see is--nope.

Allie chuckles.

ALLIE
Day at a time.

Matt chuckles under his breath.

MATT
Thanks.

Allie smirks.

ALLIE
Don’t mention it.

Allie and Matt sit in comfortable silence, staring out at the

door.

ALLIE (CONT'D)
We gotta take down those posters.
55.

MATT
I thought we were gonna make him
squirm.

Allie smirks.

ALLIE
He’s squirmed enough.

They both sit in calm silence, staring out at the door of the
walk-in closet.

FADE OUT
