TOPIC PROPOSAL: ANTI-SEXUAL HARASSMENT

I. INTRODUCTION

Sexual harassment, in its general sense, is the unwanted sexual

behavior against another person, regardless of the gender. It includes
sexual advances, requests for sexual favors and other conduct of a
sexual nature. This abhorrent act is more prevalent in institutions
wherein there is an apparent power imbalance on the groups
comprising such institutions. This could be observed in academic
institutions wherein the teacher holds moral ascendancy over the
student; or, in the workplace, where the employer or manager enjoys
a position higher than a regular employee.

II. PROBLEM STATEMENT

A person who has been a victim of sexual harassment tends to keep

silent on being subject to such vile treatment. According to
psychologists, the reasons for such silence are the following: (i) the
shame of being branded as a promiscuous person; and (ii) fear of the
consequences1.

III. OBJECTIVES

Thus, it is the purpose of this video presentation to inform those

persons prone to sexual harassment and those who have been an
unknowing victim thereof the following, to wit:
