GUIDELINES FOR MAJOR PROJECT REPORT STRUCTURE

1. Title Page:-Mention Title of the report along with name of project group, supervisor,Department, Month
and Year of submission.
2. Certificate : Signed by the supervisor. The certificate should mentioned that the work has been carried out
by this project group and has not been submitted by any other group of the institute for the award of any
other degree
3. Acknowledgements.
4. Abstract is an abbreviated version of the project report. It should be limited to a maximum of 250 words
(introduction ,problem statement ,procedures, results, conclusion)
5. Table of Contents provides the list of all headings and subheadings with page numbers
6. List of Tables.
7. List of Figures
8. List of abbreviations

TEXT PROCESSING INFORMATION REGARDING REPORT PREPARATION

1. Left Margin, Right margins ,top and bottom margins of page should be proper and uniform

2. Margins of text, headings and sub headings should be well aligned.

3. Page number at bottom-middle of page.

4. Spacing of the text material shall be 1.5

5. The font size must be 12 point in the text and at least 10 point in the figures.

6. Font Size of Main Heading 16 and Sub Heading 14.

7. Chapter Headings - CHAPTER 1, CHAPTER 2, CHAPTER 3 etc. .(centred ,font size


18,bold,uppercase letters)

8. Second Headings - 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, etc.(font size 14 towards left margin)

9. First sub-headings - 2.2.1, 2.2.2 , etc.(12 font size)

. 10. Figures and Tables:


All figures should be numbered and cited consecutively in the text as Figure 2.1, Figure 2.2, to
indicate the first and second figures in Chapter 2 respectively.

Similarly it is the case with tables such as Table 3.1, Table 3.2, etc.

** Table Heading and No. should be given above the tables.


** Figures / diagram names and no. should be below the figures.
6. Binding Specifications
Beside the supervisor's and personal copies, two copies of the project report should be bound in light
Blue color (Matt finish) hard rexin binding with golden printed letters on front cover to be submitted in the
department.

**Ensure that the side face of thickness of the thesis should have the title of the
project ,month & year of submission.
