Abstract – Abstract should be one page synopsis of the project report typed double line spacing,
Font Style Times New Roman and Font Size 12, italics.
List of Tables – The list should use exactly the same captions as they appear above the tables
in the text. One and a half spacing should be adopted for typing the matter under this head
List of Figures – The list should use exactly the same captions as they appear below the figures
in the text. One and a half spacing should be adopted for typing the matter under this head.
Page Numbering- The preliminary parts are numbered in roman numerals (i, ii, etc). The first
page of the first chapter (Introduction) onwards will be numbered in Arabic numerals 1 2 3 etc at
the bottom right corner (follow the sample report for page numbering).
Numbering sections, subsections, equations, figures etc- A word on numbering scheme used
in the project is in order. If the chapter number is 1, the section numbers will be 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 etc.
The subsections in section 1.1 will be numbered as 1.1.1, 1.1.2 etc. Headings of paragraphs
below the subsections must be bold faced and in sentence case.
The figures in chapter 1 will be numbered Fig.1.1, Fig 1.2 etc. Similarly, the tables are also
numbered as Table 1.1 Table 1.2 etc. All figures and tables must have proper captions. Figure
captions must be written below the figure and table captions on top of the table.
The same numbering scheme can be used for equations also.
If there are some appendices, these can be numbered as A1, A2, A3 etc. The equations in these
appendices can be numbered as (A1.1), (A2.3) etc.

Chapters – Each chapter should be given an appropriate title.

III. Font and Margin settings

One and a half spacing should be used for typing the general text.

For preliminary pages: The general text shall be typed in the Font style ‘Times New Roman’
and Font size 14.

Body text: Times New Roman, Size (Title: 16, Subtitle: 14, Content:12), Justified.

IV. Miscellaneous
1. A report must have a minimum of 55 pages.
2. There must be a minimum of 20 references.
3. A binding must have Golden font embossed titles on black/brown/blue
background.
