This document describes a structural design lab course that is worth 2 credits and involves 3 hours of lectures per week. The course aims to teach students how to analyze and design structural components like beams, slabs, and columns, and how to design buildings to withstand earthquakes and wind loads. Students will learn how to prepare detailed drawings of reinforced concrete and steel structural elements, including designing and drawing plans for a 5-story concrete and steel frame building.

Course outcomes On successful completion of the course, the student will be able to:
CO1 Analyze and design the structural components like beams,
slabs, columns. CO2 Design of building by perform earthquake analysis & wind analysis. CO3 Preparation of detail drawings for concrete structure elements CO4 Preparation of detail drawings for concrete steel structural elements
Course Content Design and Drawing the reinforcement details of the
following RCC Structural elements
1. Concrete beam (singly/doubly)
2. Concrete column subjected to uniaxial/biaxial bending. 3. Concrete slab (One-way/Two-way) 4. Design of G+5 concrete frame building for gravity, seismic and wind loads. 5. Preparation of detail structural drawing for the designed G+5 concrete frame building as per relevant is codes. 6. Design of G+5 steel frame building for gravity, seismic and wind loads including connections. 7. Preparation of detail structural drawing for the designed G+5 steel frame building as per relevant is codes including connections.
Note: The above problems are to be solved using Computer
programs/Application software’s like Staad.Pro/CYPE/ETABS (any two)
