q  The Government of Telangana committed to strengthen the
Panchayat Raj Institutions

q  Mana Vooru Mana Pranalika

q  State Teams visited Kerala and Karnataka to Study their PR


System

q  Brainstorm Conducted in TSIPARD with National Experts on PR


including Secretary(PR),MoPR, GoI

q  Record Achievement of Tax Collections within short time


demonstrating the existing potential of the department

q  Highest honorarium in the Country to Elected Representatives

q  State Government has decided to Notify Tandas as Gram

q  Logical continuation of Mana Ooru –Mana Pranalika matching the
needs with resources

q  Government of Telangana is going to supply piped drinking water


through Water-Grid. The GPs have to shoulder the responsibility of
maintenance

q  GPs to ensure the protection of all tanks restored and renovated in
Mission Kakatiya

q  Need to create more durable assets in MGNREGS

q  Awareness is more important than funds

q  State Government is proposing Rs. 1000 Crores budget

q  Rs. 5375 Crores to be released to GPs in next five years under 14th

q Gram Jyothi aims at achieving better coordination of line
departments through planning process for convergence of major
Schemes which are working in Silos

q To bring in synergy of Developmental efforts at GP Level

q Bottom-up planning to be adopted for optimal utility of resources


and avoid duplication

q To improve the service delivery in core sectors

q Awareness more critical than funds

q To make GP level Institutions more Accountable, Transparent


and Responsive to People’s needs

q To establish the authority of Gram Sabha - From Sarpanch Raj to


Panchayat Raj
