Second Conditional Domino

Aim: Completing second conditional sentences

Level: Intermediate
Material: Cut up domino cards

1. Ask the students to work in pairs. Give one set of dominoes to each pair, and ask them to
share them equally.
2. One student places a domino on a table, the other tries to add one of his/hers, to make a
complete sentence. Students then take it in turns to put down their dominoes at either end of
the domino chain.
3. If a student thinks that his/her partner’s sentence is not correct or doesn’t make sense,
he/she can challenge the other student. The teacher acts as a judge.
4. The game goes on until one student has used all his/her dominoes, or until neither student
can make a correct sentence. The student who finishes first, or has the fewest dominoes
remaining, is the winner.
