This diagnostic is typically a Fuel Temperature Too High.
Check as follows:
1. Are any cooling system fault codes present?
[a] Yes; repair those faults first.
[b] No; go to step 2.
2. Is SPN 174 FMI 3 or 4 also present?
[a] Yes; repair those faults first.
[b] No; go to step 3.
3. Possible causes of high fuel temperature might be:
□ Fuel aeration
□ Fuel tank level
□ Improper fuel pressure
□ Fuel line restrictions
