2018 GM River Days


Looking for a fun way to enjoy this beautiful
summer weather in the D? Why not take a trip
downtown for the upcoming GM River Days
Festival! The event takes place June 22nd -
24th with festivities along the Detroit Riverfront -
from the Detroit/Wayne County Port Authority
Terminal & Dock just west of the GM
Renaissance Center, to Rivard Plaza and the
William G. Milliken State Park. Admission to GM
River Days is $3 before 3:00pm and $5 after
3:00pm to support the non-profit Detroit
Riverfront Conservancy. Activities will include
jet-ski demos, live music, sand sculptures,
delicious eats and much more! It's fun for all
ages!

on unleashing the leader in you!

Competitive Tennis League
Starting on June 19th, come show off your
serve on Tuesday nights, at 5:00pm as a part of
the Tech Center Tennis League! There are 3
teams - Midlux, Aces, and Hybrids - that are
looking for additional players.

Workplace of Choice

JumpStart Camping Trip


Come join JumpStart for our annual summer
camping trip! We'll be heading to the woods July
13th-15th for a 2 night camping trip at Paddle
Brave Camprgound and canoeing on the Au
Sable River.

attend to cover the campsite reservation and
canoeing. Spots are limited.

Footgolf at Red Oaks Golf


Course
Bring your soccer ball and join JumpStart for a
game of Footgolf at Red Oaks Golf Course in
Madison Heights on Friday June 29 from
4:00pm - 6:00pm. We are playing just for fun, so
no need to be a soccer champion for this event!

The cost is $13 - $15 per person on the day of


the event (cost is age-dependent).

GM RenCen Rooftop Yoga


Come to the top level of the Beaubien Place
Parking Garage (next to Tower 300 of the
Renaissance Center) for Yoga on the Rooftop
and soak up some rays during lunch/after work
with 11:30am and 5:00pm classes. Classes are
FREE.

This event is organized by GM Ren Cen (who


manage tickets); however, JumpStarters will be
attending. Contact katrina.dehart@gm.com if
you want to join the JumpStart attendees.

Team GM Cares: Grow Cody
Join Team GM Cares in helping to revitalize the
Cody-Rouge Neighborhood of Detroit at Cody
High School. Volunteers will be helping with
general clean-up, locker cleaning and painting,
outdoor beautification around the school, and
other special projects. Lunch will be provided for
all employees.

PACE Volunteer Event


General Motors is hosting the last annual PACE
competition and we need your help! PACE, a
competition which has been sponsored by GM
for the past 20 years, invites teams from
Colleges & Universities around the world to
compete in creating a mobility related
innovation. This year's theme is "Access to
Mobility" (#A2M). This year's final competition
will be held at the Warren Technical Center, and
several other venues in the Metro Detroit area.

Courses
Kettering University and Kettering University
Online will present an Online course
demonstration for one of their MS Lean
Manufacturing Courses. This opportunity will
give you an overview of the Online courses and
a understanding of the platform for Online
formats. A question and answer session
regarding all their programs will be part of the
presentation with some special information
about the new MS ECE Advanced Mobility
degree which launches in July 2018.
