    Thesis Statement

    Benefits and risks of medicinal plants.

    Today there are still people, especially in rural areas, who prefer to use plants as a curative
    treatment against certain diseases. The use of plants with healing applications is millennial, and its
    use depends on time, culture and region. Many medications contain the active ingredient extracted
    from different plants, however, combining medical treatments with medicinal plants can affect the
    functioning of both. Those in charge of palliative treatments in hospitals argue that using a medicinal
    plant together with medication inhibits the functioning of each one's active principle.
