BUSCUIT TO AVOID REVERSE SHELLING OF SANDWICH

BISCUITS USING MATHLAB IMAGE PROCESSING AND
STEPPER MOTOR.

AIM:

To avoid reverse shelling of the sandwich biscuit using MATHLAB

image processing.

INTRUDUCTION:

Most of the people feels unpleasant when the find a reverse shelled
sandwich biscuits in biscuit packets like OREO, BOURBON and others.

WHAT IS REVERSE SHELLING OF BISCUIT?

When a biscuit travels in series of conveyor belt there may be the

chances of changing the orientation of the biscuit. This reverse oriented
biscuit results in reverse shelling.

Companies such as Cadbury,Brittania… has the sorting system to sort

out unbaked biscuits with the help colour sorting , but yet they may not have
the sorting system for sorting of reverse oriented biscuit in the biscuit
conveyor tube.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION:

A reverse oriented biscuit conveyor tube can be rearrange in correct

orientation with the help of MATHLAB image proccessing. A default image
of the expected orientation of the biscuit is declared into the MATHLAB
program.

An image of biscuit which is entering to conveyor tube is captured by

the phone camera. The captured image will be sent into program where
Where comparision between image of declared biscuit and image of the
biscuit captured by the camera .

Based on the comparision the following operation will be performed.

1) IF BISCUIT IS IN CORRECT ORIENRTATION, Both images matches

and Stopping tray will be pulled back and biscuit will fall in the stack of
correctly oriented biscuit . Here the stopping tray will make only linear
motion with the help of stepper motor.
2) IF THE BISCUIT IS IN REVERSE ORINETATION, Both images
mismatches and whole carriage system is rotated to 360˚ and Hence
biscuit will on the stack.
