Snap Circuits® Experiments
Hundreds of experiments give students a hands-on introduction
to electronics as they snap together circuits! Students explore the
inner workings of electronics by identifying pieces needed to complete a circuit.
They follow full-color images in the manual and snap pieces together on a simple
base grid. The finished products are similar to printed circuit boards found in
electronics, but there are no tools required! The 100-experiment kit serves as a great
starter kit with simple builds including a doorbell, a volume-adjustable siren, and
a flashing light. The 300-experiment kit takes things a bit further as students learn
how to create an AM radio and burglar alarm. Continue expanding lessons with the
500-piece kit that encourages students to explore changing AC to DC current or
building a recording device. Manuals are easy to follow along while building projects.
Clearly labeled pieces allow for immediate identification. Full contents list online.

LearnLever™ Lever
Larger-than-life lever brings the relationship between a fulcrum and amount of
force needed to lift heavy loads alive! At 21⁄2’ tall and 6’ long, this giant simple machine
gets students excited and actively collaborating to explore its benefits! STEM principles come
alive as students hypothesize then experiment through trial and error with colorful balls to
discover how many are needed to lift a load. To begin, place the LearnLever™ in a large open space
(indoors or out) and let students huddle around as they place the large fulcrum at the center
of the bar, place balls in a bucket on one end, and see the load start to shift. Answers start to
emerge to the questions of, how many balls are needed to make the lever level? What happens
when we shift the fulcrum to the right or left? How do we get the biggest lifting advantage?
Notches on the fulcrum allow for quick adjustment so students immediately see how the
position adjusts the results. Next, get students thinking by experimenting with heavier/larger
items to balance the lever. ABS construction is very lightweight for easy mobility yet durable to
withstand routine experimentation! Set includes LearnLever™ (72”L x 181⁄2”W x 30”H; 91⁄2 lb), 66

N ForceCourse™ N
Discover mechanical advantage and build powerful pulley systems!
Pulleys are an integral part of today’s engineering and construction industries due
to their ability to distribute the load of an object and reduce the force required to
move it. But which pulley design is best? With ForceCourse, students discover how
different pulleys produce different mechanical advantage, and compare three major
types of pulley systems used frequently in real-world design—fixed, movable, and
compound pulleys. Start by setting up the 64”H durable yet lightweight ABS frame
in your classroom, gymnasium, or even outside. Then engage students in exciting
hands-on experimentation, solidifying abstract physics concepts through visual and
tactile reinforcement. Students will build all three pulley systems, place weighted
bags in a bucket, then lift it using each system while observing the variances in
force required. Next, challenge small groups to use trial and error to design and
build the pulley system they think will produce the highest mechanical advantage.
Challenge older students to take it a step further, integrating math to calculate the
reduction of force based on the number of pulleys in a compound system. Everyone
can test their inventions in 4 pulley stations, encouraging collaboration for better
learning and comprehension. Includes enough parts to build one of each kind of
pulley simultaneously. Kit includes 1 frame (471⁄2"L x 471⁄2"W x 64"H), 4 buckets, 4
sets of weighted bags (ranging from 4" sq/50 g to 6" sq/1,000 g), 4 ropes (11’6”L), 8

StudyScale™ Scale
N StudyScale™ Scale
Interact with this 4-sided scale to visualize the relationship
between weight distribution and balance! Easily immerse students in
a hands-on STEM experience as they interact with physics principles in action!
They collaborate in groups to balance a hanging scale, experimenting
through trial and error to discover the right combination of colorful
weighted beanbags! To begin, place the 2 StudyScale™ frames in an open area
with 2 hanging 12”L arms and assign 1 group of students to each frame. Then
students place beanbags on both ends of their hanging scale and observe
the results. Did the scale balance? Why? Next, blend learning with math
by investigating different weight combinations—like two 50 g beanbags on
one end and one 100 g bag on the other. For more advanced trials, slide the
beanbags up and down the arms and apply critical thinking to the effects on
leverage and balance. With mastery over the 2-sided scale, add the remaining
2 arms to each frame and challenge students to balance a 4-sided scale using
previous learnings to determine correct distance from the fulcrum. Durable
ABS frames withstand routine use yet are lightweight for easy mobility.
Included lesson direction provides 3 hands-on investigations and questions
to encourage abstract thought. Lesson direction is adaptable to grade ranges
K-4 and 5-8. Set includes 2 frames (211⁄2”L x 211⁄2”W x 37”H; 11 lb), 4 Sets of 4
weighted bags (ranging from 4” sq/50 g to 6” sq/500 g), and lesson direction.

Discover how construction techniques and distribution of force increase the integrity of
buildings with these unique foam blocks! What does it take to construct a structurally-sound building,
pyramid, or arch? Students collaborate and explore various building techniques to discover how the placement
of blocks impacts the integrity of a structure. Learn how staggering blocks and the width of the base affects a
building, and how to adjust construction techniques to create a stronger structure. Students will also see why
the keystone is the most important piece of an arch and how it distributes force. Lightweight blocks are made
of dense foam that’s easy to stack and is not disruptive when a structure falls. These durable blocks are also
great for other classroom building activities. Set includes 52 building blocks (8”L x 6”W x 6”H), 8 arch blocks
