Project Name:

RTO - Regional Transport Office System - VB6 + SQL Server / Oracle .

Abstract:

Ever increasing no of traffic on the road, it is very tough to maintain the proper registration of
vehicles and maintain the license of driver. All vehicles should be properly registered and the
records regarding these vehicles should be maintained. Driver license details need to maintain for
reference and control the driver to use proper and valid license. Vehicle registration and driver
licensing are controlled by a R.T.O – Regional Traffic Office. R.T.O. office is a government office
which maintains all the information regarding vehicles on the road and the driver. As per Motor
Vehicle Act, 1939 and Bombay Motor Vehicle Rules, 1959 regular that every vehicle should be
registered, no person shall drive vehicle or no vehicle owner shall drive in public place on in any
other place unless the vehicle is registered along with his/her motor vehicle driving licensee and
duly paid motor vehicle tax at R.T.O. office.

Therefore proposed “RTO Management System” has been designed to automate the process of
registration of vehicle and issuing driving license process. System can make the daily activities
efficient and providing the fast response to store and retrieve information..

Project Scope:

From an end-user perspective, the RTO Management System Project consists of four
functional elements: Vehicle Registration Module, License Module, Report Module and Security
Module.

Vehicle Registration Module - Vehicle registration modules include option for new vehicle
registration, duplicate certificate of registration, and renewal of registration and transfer of
registration.

License Module - License module includes details of learning license, paramagnet license, new class
vehicle license, duplicate license, and renewal of license.

Report Module and Security modules include security features like user management, application
level password management and database backup

Modules:

User Management, Login, User Creation, Change Password, Learning License, Permanent
License, Renewal License, Duplicate License, New Registration, Duplicate Registration, Reports, etc.

 Visual Basic 6.0

 SQL Server 2005 / 2008 or Oracle 9i / 10g

Hardware Requirements:

Processor: Preferably 3.0 GHz or Greater.

RAM : 1 GB or Greater.

Limitations of the Software:

This project was developed to fulfill user and business requirement; however there is lots of
scope to improve the performance of the RTO Management System in the area of user interface,
database performance, and query processing time. Etc.

Future Enhancements:

 SMS and Email alert for notification.

 Integration with other RTO Offices.
