Assignment:

 Being a project manager I have planned for completion of project. In this project consist of
construction of Prestressed concrete Bridge having 500m length on national highway
crossing major river But one of the major hurdles is that due to cultivation on both side of
highway ,very restricted space of only 100M in width & 300M in length is available on both
sides of highway.

 To complete the project within time limits. I have planned No. of things from top level to
lowest level. One organization structure is term which is very useful to successful
completion of project. All work will complete by working in day night shift. I have planned
from all key function, Authority to each level, Responsibility of each person,
communication flow and co-related authority. Desire control, Risk assessment.
Equipment, material management, official work safety management, and discuss. All
department of company related to this project and minimize losses, scraps retail, total cost
of project. By considering all this things related to job. I will complete whole project within
14 month. By fulfilling all condition and as per specification given by owner.

Scope of work:
Recently land availability is very difficult to new development due to scarcity of
land. To Solve this problem we have to plan prestressed concrete bridge as per proper technique
& best manner so that gives a good result. Also Quality & economy is the prime more important
criteria for developing on construction a new project economy gives the more put and increase
grow that company & quality construction reflect company standards .
My company has bagged a contract of building 500m length prestressed concrete
bridge on national highway which is situated on major river NARMADA of which the river shore is
cultivated zone due to this work area is to restrictaed for mobilization of heavy equipment such
as Crane , JCB , Crawler- tractor as way To & Fro for this equipment ,manpower etc.
Being a project manager I have planned about organization chart. having number
of things to be consider such. All structure is lean & this as for as possible also report minimum
personal on company. organization structural role up to the Junior engineer level and supervisor
also assign from local within 100 km area only contract basis up to project duration. All work will
start side by side such as from first stage of surveying ,site clearing material procuring if required
prier to start the actual work the necessary small shuttering steel cutting etc. Because less time
more profit & reduce cost of project due to reducing the time. While considering whole
Thing the first & prime most important thing is that establishment of Main office from where the
whole activity of site to be control .
In whole project whole work is divided in two part. One parts consist of activity related
SUBSTRUCTER ( the structure below Ground level) & Second consist of activity related
SUPERSTRUCTURE ( the structure above Ground level ) will complete project within 14 Month
including all finish work. The substructure activity consist of Excavation ,Raft making for
abmatment ,backfilling where as the super structure activity consist of construction of Abetment
,bearing ,Deck slab .Retaining wall etc

PRE - MOBILIZATION STUDIES: -

Once the contract is signed by the company, the project execution would start. A detail plan for
mobilization is prepared and manpower as well as plant and equipment allocation is forecasted
and provision is made for the same. As a handing over of a site and other formalities such as bank
guaranties, mobilization advance would take place in due course, the time required to complete
this formalities would be use for the project study, take of f plan and organizing the site
mobilization.

Project Origination & Management:

As a target to complete project in 16 month we have to plane our origination in better way.
According to project breakdown structure & origination chart shone in fig.

A project manager will control all project. He is authority person in project. Deputy project
manager will assist to PM. He will be direct in charge for planning QA & admin Department. All
area managers will assist to him only. Every shift engineer will report to his area manager. Area
manager are responsible for progress of his structure. All construction manager will having
responsibility for his section and two engineer will assist his for work in both shift. Shift engineer
will execute the work at site level and report to construction manager. This engineer will
supported by two supervisor and foreman as per job requirement. One planning manager will
make program and schedules for completion of project. Also he will be responsible for making
progress report and monitoring the progress. He will report to direct to project manager.

1. Financial Function :
Finance is the main function of company. For company finance is to provided by
world bank. World Bank is finance as per previous our company credit and total property.
For Developing prestressed concrete bridge on national highway World Bank has
finance as per installment as per work progress before two month on every one month as per
target work for that month. World Bank will provided finance for this contract 14.5 core. This all
office work about finance well staff is to be assign to complete all procedure. One accountant and
two assistant is required for this work.

2. Tendering :
Tendering is the most important for any company the Net profit of any origination is wholly
depends up on the Rate cotation of particular project . it present status of share market is the
important factor to profit & loss of company. For that marketing of our company is more
important to increase value of company. For this one team is situated for to stay connected to
present scenario or situation.
Other importance of is to present rate or price of all construction material 60%
cost of construction is depend upon material for this in my company for purchasing committee has
formed.
3. Procurement :- this department function gareup from the survey work of any site so that
the speed of work unobstructed .here need the bargaining skill on which the net profit of
origination increases
4. Technical function:
Technical this in very important for increasing the status of company at
international level, for technical level in my company has placed a well staff from manager level to
junior engineer as seen below.

For this project I have planned the organized structure. As per above mentioned
only for technical function. In this structure same technical person for each level means every
construction manager has staff given below at each level.
 Responsibility of person at each level.
For this project two construction manage has appointed for managing the whole
project ,every manager will manage all things related to construction manager has work normally
office level to take the present status of each site requirement achieve work of respected site
whole project work divided two part, one part for each connation manager (III)
The construction managers III are manage from top level to manager. I
construction manager II decide the which manager is placed for particulars job. Manager will carry
the target work from below manager level (II, I).Construction manager II has work at site each
manager consist of more than one it they manage provide material, equipment, and technical
power and more the speed of work and achieve the target of work within time limit.
In this project two construction manager (II) find has work is 10 bungalows and
another has work at 20 apartment and manager – I has work on market in housing colony as per
design planning & specification construction manager whole responsible person for his work.
Construction manager (III) has also another department
i) Contract’s cell
ii) Planning Department
iii) Safety Department
iv) Quantity surveying
v) Quality control department.

 Contract cell :
In this department all billing work is carry out. Contract cell is make all contractor
labor measurement books checks & pass bell as per terms & condition. In this project in contract
cell Department consist of one is engineer execution & another two person’s are graduate trainee
engineer. They make bill contractor bells as per drawing & C.S.R. take all detail intermit about
work. In contract cell Department all contractor is bind by term & condition. Also they get the
labor contract as per their old construction experience & ability to work.
 Planning Department:

In this project planning Department work to planed various activity such as work
progress at report CPM network PERT program. In this Department at my project & person are
work one is senior engineer & graduate trainee engineer.
Senior engineer work at top level such as daily work program and carry out
availability of material & other equipment. The graduate trainee engineer has work to calculate
daily progress report from various sites and make record of daily progress, daily achievement of
work & Bonus work they also calculate the monthly target of every work & give regular work
progress to senior engineer.
 Quantity survey Department :
In this department carryout the all quantity of work is to be calculated. Take out
detail about quantity of each item. Detail description about work on this record the calculate cost
of item, total cost site total cost of project.
 At construction manager level:
The all work is carryout under his education. As per specification on each
construction manager 2nos executions engineer one junior engineer level. Construction manager
– II manage the all technical staff under below his. They decide where to who situated for work at
site as per knowledge.
Responsibility at execution engineer II & I is to execute work as per specification,
details of drawing & proper finishing of work. Execution engineer has minimum 2 year experience
in construction field so that they can work proper. Every 3 site has extraction engineer in each site
has graduate Trainee engineer or junior trainee engineer. Execution engineer has guide to the
GTE or JTE about work, that how to carry out and how to execute the work within time limit. Risk
assessment how to take problem which is created at site during execution of work to understand
the drawing to GTE and carry out work. Graduate trainee engineer is present at site in whole time
of friction.
Graduate trainee engineer take the record at all work. This is under carryout take
record of quantity of material received at site daily labor report. Labor supply which works is
carried out. Quantity of work is to be carried out & gives the daily progress report from site to
planning department and maintain daily record also give prier requirement it material &
equipment the senior engineer.
 Quality control department:
Quality control Department also manages at manager level. In quality control
department have a quality control manager under which work about quality of work is to be

carried out. This department consists of one manager one sinner engineer and two graduate
trainee engineer. In quality control department play a main role in construction they execute the
work as per quality of work from drawing the material to the handover the site to owner.
Manager has decided the plan of quality execution of work of whole sites as per
progress of work and requirement of work. In quality department they check the all quality of
material also carry out the all laboratory testing of material. Quality control Department also
execute at site by and rate down the weak point in construction. Check the quality of work which
is actual carry out at site. Also they maintain the record of daily report of onsite such as:
 Rebar inspection, formwork checking.
 Pre pour card inspection
 Post pours conc. Inspection.
 Construction recover card
 Excavation inspection card.
All above mention card is filled at site during execution of work and passed it from client.
5. Administrative function:
Administration function the pre important function. This function work before
commencement of site. Main role of Administrative function is to manage the all staff
requirement with respected to accommodation transportation food, new 50 mg, salary of all
employment & work. Daily muster store, equipment maintains department.
In my project I have manage administrative department which consist of Non
technical well educated person’s having good computer efficiency. For maintaining all this I
arrange following organization chart.

In this organization officer – II is to be manage the all administrative work is the


person which contact with below level to level up to head office of company about all work office.
I planned all the work carried out by department and mange it his level. One assistant officer is
maintains the problem of Accommodation facility food facility breakfast & traveling of all staff.
From staff Colony to effect & officer & office respected site another assistant is work about store.
In store maintains the all record of material equipment provide the accessories as per request.
Maintain daily record equipment maintenance.
Other third assistant other is to work to maintain the daily mustier book a daily
affordance of all staff. Workers to complete the all precedence for new joining clearance of
employ at the time of completion of project every month salary record all local work about,
banking posting, Reconvert of the traveling and any local work. These assistants are work local
helper and solve the problem about local locality.
Communication requirement and flow:
Communication is very important role to increase the progress and avoided break
down managerial process. It is two way process bottoms to top level & top level to bottom level.
Communications consist of problems requirement. Task of work & new changes in daily routine
firstly communications start from top level to bottom level. Then is complete again bottom level
to top level then is complete again bottom level to top level. I have held the meeting on every
Sunday afternoon with all managers to discuss problems and progress at work.
For fast communication mobile facility is provided by my company to all employ
excluding trainee engineer supervisor & workers already daily communication is carry out only
daily progress at only about respective site up to supervisor to manager level.
Verbal communication:
This communication is carry out daily on only each level about
Tomorrow’s requirement & problems and progress of work for this mobile facility is to be used or
face to face communication is carry out in evening at site office.
Written Communication:
Written communication is carry out as per importance of work daily
or weekly or after one monthly as per work it is also important communication for maintained the
record of work and it is not changeable record. This record use for future work & maintains office
record.
Authority to carry out functions:-

Type of authority gets as per their level. Type of authority is depends upon their
designation.
Authority at manager’s level:
Manager has whole power to how do execute the work as per their
own convince manager change the staff under him. Manager take any decision about work on his
own risk the can change the design as per site condition & make new suitable planning about
work. The can face the problem related to site to with higher authority.
Authority of execution engineer:
Execution engineer is the site in charge of execution. He execute the
work as per planning & design. He can’t take any own decision about work. He can give
instruction about work to workers and graduate trainee engineer.
Authority of graduate or junior trainee engineer:
Trainee engineer is the only posted for taking training and take site
knowledge. He can handle the labor staff at site and manage it. He can give order of material in
store to issue.
\Supervisor authority:
Supervisor is take small decision about site when it running. He can only manage
the labor, working procedure maintain the speed of work he is only person know the non technical
things or management of work at the time of execution.
Safety manager:
Safety manager safety manager has many power safety manager can stop work
when work will not obey the safety rule. Because safety manager is help to save worker life from
hazardous risk. He can give the resign to the labor it labor do not obey the safety rule. Safety
manager provide the safety accessories to protect accessories protect from hazardous.

Requirement of personal at each level:


At manager level 5 persons are required. Two for construction because of one cant
manage all site and more than 2 manager is not require for housing colony manager III are work at
office work & providing all facility respectively. to site. They also solve bigger problem it created.
On site another second manager to control quality because one is safety manager is the major role
to save human life one safety manager manage all things related to safety.

Fifth one is electrical manager he can manage all work related to electricity
problem because in civil construction company electrical work is minimum that work manage by
only the manger.
In second level is execution engineer one execution engineer one execution
engineer can manage maximum 3 sites at a time so less than one construction manager no need
of execution engineer more than two no. 5. In case of quality department one senior engineer
must for managing the all work relate office work and technical things and one trainee engineer
can manage the small things such as check laboratory testing, record site finishing quality.
Graduate trainee engineer are require one for each site execute work at his level
also graduate trainee engineer have one supervisor to supervision o site graduate trainee engineer
not require more than one on same site or at lest one engineer must require for testing or check
technical things as per specification given.
At officer level in Administrative department there is one officer at top and another
is below them another 3nos assistance officer are require to manager nos. of things find local
public helper require to knowledge about locality to manage the problem.
Recommendation/Conclusion –
In this project of Developing and constructing of housing colony for this work I have
prepare full developed organization chart to completion of project. This organization chart is very
lean and then and bare minimum personnel on company roll up to Junior Engineer level. And
every work has divided in respective person as per their importance of work. I include all things
about project such risk assessment, quality of work, problem of electricity in night & electric
operator machine problem office work accommodation staff with suitable co-related their site
climate. Every facility provided to all staff manager to labor level.
For non-technical staff one staff colony is newly temporary constructed at
site to live all staff. All supervisors are selected as per temporary basis only project duration to
look out all things related to project and try to fulfill each and every. Focusing the on target work I
will complete this project within time with minimums input sources
